Welcome to Librarium Online!
I am very much new to Blood Bowl, and this is the first team I've put together. I have looked at some sites, with tips on the teams and all, but I thought I'd get some help from you lot. I am unsure when I'll get to game - not too soon anyway, but I'd like to have a decent chance to do OK.
Also, I'd like to have a troll in there at some point. They just seem fun, and well...nasty.********
It appears I did a little bit of miscalculation on my previous team list, I miscalculated by about 164,000. Oops. Anyway, I had another go and brought another linesman and thrower along with some more fan factor. So, my team looks like so:
3x Black Orc
6x Fan Factor
I called them "The Badland Leg Breakers" coached by "Grotrag 'Arry' Kuffrag.
I have been looking at a number of sites, most give some good suggestions for skills when they improve; 'pro', 'guard', 'block', 'tackle' seem to be the better choices for most of them. Though, I do fail to understand why Black Orc Blockers do not come with the 'block' skill.
Are you playing under LRB 5/6 rules? If so loose all the ff as it of little relevance in this rule set. Always make sure you start with your 4 black orcs as you'll find they skill slowly as u have to rely on casualties. Hmm looking at that team your still well over the 1,000,000 starting price lol.
4 x BoB
3 x Blitzers
5 x linemen
3 x Reroll
1 x FF
Trolls are a good call but I wouldn't start with one as they can be a bit unreliable. A far as skills go guard is the single best skill in the game (after block) and you should load up on it at every chance you get, then depending on what sort of teams you will be playing most you can tailor your skills some what ie if your playing alot of bashy teams like orcs chaos take mighty blow if your playing alot of agility teams like elves and skaven take tackle
Hope this helps

Thanks. Been meaning to get into BB for a while, I have seen FUMBBL before but I wasn't caring about it then. I think I'm at the age where the non-mainstream stuff holds a great interest. Oh don't get me wrong, its not all about forgetting the others but I'd like to spread my wings a bit.
I believe it'll be LRB5 for the rules, and really over? Odd. I must have miscounted somewhere again, I swear I (re: excel) added it up correctly. Never mind.
I will admit, I was curious about taking the high number of BOBs and blitzers to start with. I didn't want to take the good ones and not have room for the padding. I wasn't planning on starting with a troll, but I would like to add one for later. His strength might well come in handy.
Thanks for the tips.
Welcome to BB indeed.
The advised I can give you on making and Orc team is mainly based on the LRB5 league I participated in the first half of this year. In this league there were 2 Orc teams. One with a disastrous amount of unluck (he had a 1:1 - gamesrcs killed ratio after the first 5 matches) and the other was the rooky who ended 6th out of 10 players.
The following things showed:
* Blitzers are the lifeblood of the Orc team. Never leave home without all 4 of them.
* Black Orcs advance really slowly as they only get SSP from casualties. Out off the 8 league black orcs, only 1 had a level after 9 matches.
* A thrower is really usefull to pick up the ball and get the ball handling section going. And playing a passing game is actually a viable tactic for Orcs, especially if the thrower starts to develop.
* Goblins are potentially very good ball handlers / TD makers, but their S2 stunty makes them a choice only viable if you have reserves.
* Later teams should include a troll.
The first of these points is really the most important one. 4 Blitzers is a must as they are both your main ball carriers [MA 6, AG3] and your main hitting force [block].
So my suggested team would be something like:
* 4 Blitzers
* 3 Black Orcs
* 3 Line Orcs
* 1 Thrower
* 1 Goblin
* 3 RR
* 0 FF
Hope this helps and have fun with BB.
Hi Kuffy. It's good to see that you're getting into blood bowl. You've made an excellent choice in orcs as they are a solid bashy team. Just so you know, fumbbl uses a mainly lrb4 ruleset with some changes.
Taking a high number of black orcs and blitzers is what you want to be going for as this is where the strength of the roster lies. I probably wouldn't go with two throwers as you're not going to be passing the ball but rather simply gathering it using sure hands and grinding down the pitch in eight turns.
As for skills, I'd take block on black orcs and throwers as a first skill as it is vital. For blitzers I would go primarily with guard. It is also a good idea to have one or two tacklers to deal with any blodgers. Pro is pretty awful when you can take skills like guard. I also believe that stand firm is a good skill in lrb4 as you can dodge without risk.
