Im playing my first ever Mordheim campaign with some friends, unfortunately we can't get together very often to play. So to try and satisfy my Mordheim addiction in the mean time, I bought a bunch of dwarf treasure hunter models.

I have the Annual 2002 book that has the rules for the Dwarf Treasure Hunter warband in them, but it dosnt give any strategy or building tips like it does for the Orc army they list.

Whats a good well rounded Dwarf warband to start with for 500 crowns?

What are some tactics once I get them on the board?

I tend to play "shooty" but I want to be able to stand and fight when my opponent gets sick of arrow and bolt filled corpses and decides to bring the fight to me.

An engineer is a must if you want to play shooty warband. Adds to the range of missle weapons.
    At least 1 slayer
Everyone else should be clansmen with ax, spear and helm.
With a helm, a dwarf is damn near indestructable.
I also get a Bounty Hunter at the first opportunity. TC # 10 has the info for this hired sword.

Great, thanks. Ill be sure to look up the bounty hunter. I had planned on starting with an engineer, and I like the idea of the spear/axe combo.

Ok, heres my first run at a Dwarf list:

    ____________________________________________________
Dwarf Noble (Dagger, Crossbow, Spear, Helmet)

    Dwarf Engineer (Dagger, Spear, Helmet)

Troll Slayer (Dagger, Spear, Hammer, Helmet)

5 Dwarf Beardlings (Daggers, Spears, Helmets)

    497 crowns total
    ____________________________________________________

My concerns are I only have 3 heroes (I guess I can live without a lot of exploration dice), I move slowly, I only have one missile weapon for now.

What should I purchase after the first battle, hard to say without knowing how much gold I'll have but, any suggestions? Can this warband hold its own on the board, or should I go the route of more heroes that are better equipped?

Also, in the Annual 2002 Mordheim book (which has the Treasure Hunter Warband rules) it lists Clansmen and Thunderers (marksmen) with the same stats

As far as WS/BS goes, they are both 4/3.... shouldnt Clansmen be 4/3 and Thunderers be 3/4 ??? What gives?
