    Pit fighters

A few of my friends, along with myself are participating in a Mordheim campaign soon and I was hoping for your opinions on my list:

Pit king with empire style equipment (two handed sword[love the sliced! rule], light armour, helmet and dagger) 125gc

Pit Veteran with undead style equipment (spiked gauntlet, helmet, dagger and sword) 70gc

Dwarf troll slayer with gromril dwarf axe 95gc

2 pit fighters with empire style equipment 160gc

Pursuer with Skink style (helmet, trident, dagger and net) 50gc

500gc on the dot. What do you all think?

Since barely anyone takes armor in MH, I'd suggest you lose the gromril of your dwarf axe and taking a second dwarf axe or a hammer/mace. Also, you may want to keep Empire fighting style to just a few of your heroes, and have your less-tough henchmen strike on initiative. If you drop the gromril and downgrade your henchmen to Undead style, you have enough crowns left to take a second pursuer.

Even doing that you only have 7 models, which really hurts in rout checks. A good way around this for starting warbands is to take hired swords, but then it's even harder to add to your warband later. That's the main problem with pit fighters, a lot of the pre-set styles have light armor and/or shields, and armor is pretty much worthless unless you're lucky enough to get gromril. Try looking into the pit fighter hired sword and the Tilean marksman for a bit of long-range support.

Other than that, stick the to the ruins for that amazing pit fighter bonus.

don't bother with armour, go for some more warriors.
at the moment you only have to take 2 casulties for a rout test.
I think about 9 warriors in a warband will keep you going for a while.

He doesn't have a choice to take armor or not with pit fighters, you just choose a fighting style and it comes with a set. There's barely any choice until after the first game.
