Ok, so i'm a morheim "vet" but i've never been in a decent campaign and havn't ran one either. I was wondering if there were some people here who could give me some advice, or fun rules, or even scenarios would be great. I'm just out of ideas and have nowhere to start heh..
I'm actually looking into starting a MH league myself, down at the local store. Problem with the MH campaign system is that there isn't any. Sure there are rules for your warbands getting better and better, but to what end? The whole point is to gather riches, so the easiest way to do it is have a set winner when somebody reaches X amount of gold or wyrdstone. But that follows little to no storyline, and people will lose interest.
The way I'm planning on running it is allowing open gaming at the store any time, and having a set night once per week for a multiplayer game, for as many people that want to show up. For the first 2-4 weeks nothing special will happen, but eventually the multiplayer scenarios will start to follow the rise to power of a some agent of darkness (I haven't decided yet). The basic idea is run a few scenarios where certain warbands have been 'hired' to aid or hinder the character rising to power, either by attempting to steal magic items for him, or to destroy them before he has a chance to use them. It all leads up to a final battle between the character and his newly formed army and all the warbands, finally seeing him for what he is and seeking to destroy him before he destroys MH. As far as characters go, i'm thinking either a powerful Necromancer summoning an Undead horde, or a possessed magister summoning a daemon army. Or I could always run Witch Hunters and after a while have them summon the army of Karl Franz (historically he and his army destroyed MH) and have a huge Empire army just show up and purge the streets of MH.
Either way it's going to be complicated and hopefully a lot of fun.
Oh yeah, check out the MH site for some cool rules on multiplayer scenarios (Chaos on the Streets), and all the other articles they have posted. At least check out Random Happenings, Subplots, and The Ones that (Almost) Got Away, as they're all great little quirks for games in campaigns.
Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, even if it's wrong.
