The guard was mildly surprised by Christelle’s question; he had not expected the trainees to interact with him. “The Doc is just through that doorway” he explained before volunteering his assistance” I guess I could find her and ask for you?”

Either that guard is really nervous and is on his first day, or he's a sneaky git in disguise. thought Edward, his paranoid mind whiring and alert. He remained calm and headed over to the basketball court and waited aroud the edge of the court and quietly watched the match. He pulled out his personal datacube and wrote somthing on the screen with a black stylus...

Gordon sighed, and waved his hand dismissively. "I've had enough. I'll leave you kids to play." He grabbed a conveniently placed towel, and wiped away the sweat. He wandered over to one of the vending machines, and selected an energy drink. He grabbed a protein bar from another, and sat down. Popping open the drink with a hiss, he gulped it down refreshingly. He took large bites of the energy bar, and once he had finished, disposed of the wrapper and can thoughtfully.
He sat back down on the lounge, and looked over at the guard. "So, you ever been in the service? Or are you just a YMCA certificate gun-for-hire?" he questioned somewhat abrasively.
Edward had written down a description of the suspious looking guard on his datacube and what made him suspect he was up to somthing. He saved the word file just incase he had to confront the guard and to justify any potential fighting. He wandered around and munched on a chocolate bar, silently thinking and observing...

Katherine sighed at the tiny attention span the group seemed to have and their somewhat bizarre fascination with a security guard. The free drinks from the vending machine had now become rather tempting and she walked over to one of the machines and looked at the usual choices and selected the caffeine free choice. She drank the carbonated beverage and observed as the group pestered the security guard her attention turned to the door with the blue light and she wondered whether it was a security scanner or just the rooms lighting.
The Guard raised his hand slightly “I have seen my fair share of action and paid the price for it” as he gestured slightly to his arm “I would sooner not discuss it in detail right now as the lady here would like me to find Doctor Maxwell and well… I’m not paid to talk, sorry.”
He headed towards the doorway, the blue lights shimmered briefly as he walked into the next room.
Finishing the delcious nanite enriched chocolate, he tossed the wrapper into the near by waste bin and leaned against a wall, although he appeared to be calm, his paranoid thoughts began to die down. I guess I was wrong prehaps, maybe the top guys here just wanted to test our alertness... he thought, a fine little smile played across his face....

The next fifteen minutes or so passed largely without incident until eventually Doctor Maxwell emerged flanked by two security guards. One was the guard from earlier, however the one on the Doctor’s left was younger and had an obviously cybernetic eye.
“We’re ready in the orientation room if you’ve fully recovered from the helicopter ride” said Maxwell in a formal tone.
