i know your gonna think im crazy, but i've read this thread from start to finish... and i have just had my mind well and truly blown by the supreme awesomeness the these minis.... The painters of the minis deserve massive respect from all of us, if only for thier sheer skill. PS. nice thread rabbit, and thanks to all who have contributed :happy:8Y

I'm not sure but i think that fliers may mean flyers, such as the Tau Manta or the Nightwing, Helltalon etc. Quote:
The second one here I agree has cool wings. The effect on them certainly deals with the problems of wings at times being rather plain. I think it was done using watered down paint applied in layers on to a darker surface. Sometimes a pattern can be achieved on wings by painting them lightly and then adding darker colours. Basically causing the pattern to form by removing or covering up everything else, like Leonardo davinci said he sculpted statues by removing the excess marble. | |
