I don't know about any of you guys but, I find that this particular mini is rather strange in the way of it's random colour scheme. It's nicely painted I give him that, but it a very strange combination ;?.

the same goes for the Pink Kroot, when I first saw it, it looks like it's wearing pink overralls lol.

excellent pics, although I have seen the Chrome Battlesuit and was amazed at the simple but effective application of colours

Don't forget that Stealth Suit that was featured in White Dwarf, painted by Neil Hodgson! I don't know if there is an online picture though...

That predator kroot is amazing! Makes me feel bad about all my past kroot conversions =(

I do love those purple Tau. I am sort of bummed that someone else has gone off and made dark tau too. Luckily it probably isn't CC tau, so I'm still original.

I can get the shadowing- just a very complex method of darkening based on an imagined light source-but how the heck did he get that chrome look?

To answer your question, that model is entirely the product of a skilled painter. Here are a few more that might blow your mind:













Some people are just this good, though, I don't generally like the ultra shiny non-metallic metal look. For the hobby's sake, it's amazing, though not too realistic. Who in their right mind would put on such a stunning piece of equipment and then expect to do battle?

You know, this looks like it was really hard to do and all, and kudos to the painter for technical ability, but I just don't like it. It kind of reminds me of some 80's airbrush sci-fi pic that you'd see in Heavy Metal magazine. Like this:



I dunno to my taste it just looks . . . cheesy.
