It is a custom sculpt that an amazing tyranid player made. The thing is so much cooler than the one by Forge World. I wish I could remember his name.

The Great Plague meets The Devourer of The Galaxy. What does that make us?

Yeah, that's nothing but amazing, David. It's gotten me semi-motivated to get off my desk and jump back into my closet (where I paint). As well, I've had a hankering to do some banner conversions with 3-dimensional effects.

What are you looking to use to make the banners? Ive tried both plastic card with heat source (Didnt work!) and green stuff (OK for small banners but not large ones) Im looking at getting some Lead sheeting (thin stuff) I think thats the best way forwards with 3d banners, if you find any PLEASE let me know.

If you mix your GS, wait about 15 minutes (so it's not so sticky), flatten it out, then cut it in the desired shape, you can coat it with some talcum powder so you can create a natural looking draping banner effect. The talcum powder prevents the GS from sticking to itself to facilitate "natural" draping. Once the GS dries, you can wash off the powder with water, and paint.

As a Death Guard enthusiast, I plan on using a combination of a green stuff substitute, water effects, and rubber grape halves:
I'll shape the green stuff into the typical Nurgle parephenelia- pustules and what not. Then, I crudely paint them red. Afterward, I'll take the rubber grape halves and superglue them directly on top of the pustules. Since the grape halves are semi-transparent, this has a wonderful effect of making the painted green stuff look as though it has been 'cocooned' in some type of twisted egg-like coffin from the Alien movie. Finally, I'll add an extremely small amount of green paint to some water effects. I can't remember off hand which GW paint I use, but it's one of the lighter ones. The water effects is meant to soften the ridges of the grape halves and blend everything together in a ripe bit of slime and ooze.
The end product should look something like this, but as you can imagine, on a banner:
This predator is still a work in progress. Paint job needs tightening up, but you get the point. Obviously, from the images, you can see I've added heads and skulls to some empty grape halves for added Nurgle splendor
