This Skaven looks good. I think what makes him work is the expressions in the model. In his face he seems to have an obvious glee in what he is doing. What he looks like he doing is about to chuck a mouldy old warpstone/jacko lantern/head in the river.

The head looks good too. I think it's expression is actually better than the Skaven's expression. It looks like a head that was alive and has (obviously) since died. But the face had an expression on it and nobody has bothered to re-arrange it.

Yeah, Rabbit, I've seen Scibor's tutorial on it. I wouldn't have believed how simple the concept was until I saw it! I'm resolving now to do some sort of stuff like that for my dread. Can't wait!

I know for oversized statues, sculptors make hands larger to trick our perspective. I wonder if the same is true for sculptures on a miniature scale. I've noticed a lot of elves tend to have big hands, which looks odd up close but not from a standing position.
