Just saw this...

It is sloppy but you will fix it... my trust in on you! And you can't imagine my sloppiness when it comes to paints... Only sometimes I work well...

Nurglish looking flesh I like... the maggots as it has been said needs a proper wash but you said it will be fixed too!

Can't wait to see more!

Looking good/gross!

Just curious: Your scab red wash really brought out the details nicely. Did you only need to go over things once? If so, care to share you tricks for setting up a paint wash? I like inks, but I hate the sheen, and when I try to use paint washes it seems I always make them too thin, thus I need to do a dozen passes before it looks right.

vBulletin > Kuffeh.

Canew, when using normal paint as a wash, you will need to water it down around 2:1 water:paint, but there is no definitive guide.
What I do to test is touch a little bit onto some tissue using the brush I am mixing it with. It should spread out very quickly, and be almost see-through.

Hard to explain in writing, but try it out using a few different 'thicknesses', and see what happens.

Well, being the sloppy bum I am I really have no recipe for a wash... I like take a big drip of water on my palette, then I dip the rather wet paintbrush gently in the paint pot hence getting a touch of paint on it.
Then I add the paintbrush to the drop of water and just mix it around there for a short while. Next is to find a stain of colour on my palette that reminds of the one I'm using for a base coat and paint on it, adding more water if needed.
The wash is really thin by now, very see-through. When all this is done, I just carelessly apply it all over the intended area...with some bonus wash coming on other places too.
But if there is some place that I feel need a deeper colour I take a finer brush and get a minimum amount of paint on the tip and quickly add it to the wash that has gathered there (it's always in a recess) and just let the good old osmosis do the trick for me.
It sucks the paint right out of the brush.

The last thing I do is to take my trusty old thumb and wipe of the raised areas. Not to make them super clean an "air of colour" can very well remain, to tie the whole thing together.
