A quick and easy method I have found to get very nice table top figures done is to do this: Using a large brush (say tank sized or there abouts) - brush on a watered down layer of paint on the entire figure. Keep it thick enough to where the color doesn't go transparent. If need be go back and add a second coat. When dry it should be a nice solid color that doesn't look lumpy or uneven. This gives you a solid foundation and you can go back to the areas that need other color and carefully paint them on. Neatness in painting goes a very long way for making it look good on the table. At its most basic - even a flat color that is neatly painted can come across very well - especially if accented by little details that are painted. Very quick and quite efficient. Otherwise the guide written is very well done and has some great pointers. good brushes will do you well. You might spend more money up front but I can definitely say that over time you will spend even more money and valuable time being frustrated over lousy cheap brushes that you need to constantly replace. On the subject of brushes a flat brush in a couple different sizes is also very handy. For drybrushing - synthetic brushes tend to work just fine - but for detail work nothing beats a kolinsky Sable brush. Cheers, -Mike
