Default matching new paints to old Citadel paints?

Hi I have a number of older citadel colour paints (the really old plastic bottles with a tight seal)
and i wanted to find some quality replacements for them as they have lasted me through several armies and are still quite useable, abet running out slowly.

Would the current line of reaper paints or the Vallejo Game Colors be more worth getting? I have some paints that I can't seem to find matches for paints like Amethyst Purple, Polished Blue, or Glistening Green.

thank you for any help you can provide.

Many painters I know don't even touch citadel paint anymore. They just use Vallejo and reaper brushes now.

If you have the old citadel paints (in hexagonal pots with white plastic lids), then you should check out the Coat D'Arms paints, as that is the company who used to manufacture them, before citadel decided to do it alone.

Otherwise I would reccomend Vallejo (the model colour range is absolutely huge), and if you really don't want any citadel paints, try Privateer's P3 as a replacement for Foundation paints.

A mate who has used GW paint for 20 years just buys his from ebay. He won Golden Demon awards with old paints so why change?

Must say I did get a batch job of 4 box sets from Ebay: and it felt so fresh. Pain in the backside to keep searching but one auction with a few box sets will see you into the next decade imho
