Default highlighting hawk turquoise?

Hi,
I need some painting tips (there’s a first time for everything I guess)
I would like to know the best way to highlight hawk turquoise.
I was thinking of using the new blue or maybe even the black wash.
Any other ideas?

Maybe not BleachedBone because it is far to 'yellow-ish dirty-ness colour' but white sounds good. Have you got any Vallejo pale greyblue? it is a sought of off-white colour with a hint of blue (not as strong as skull white) maybe it's worth a go.

I actually really like adding Bleached Bone to colors to lighten them up. I also know that a lot of people like doing the same thing with Commando Khaki. I usually avoid straight white after I ended up turning my red into pink.

Washes are generally for shading, rather than highlighting. But as said, colours like white, bleached bone or kommando khaki (the latter being a personal favourite) will give you a highlight colour to use. The latter two will give you a more muted tone, white can be quite harsh so you will not need much.

A very light gray would work as well. Something like a ghost or wolf gray...

Cheers,

Thanks for the help guys.
I got one more, what would be the best colour base coat?
I have tied it on black and it's not bad. But would it be bright
on a white base coat?

- Boomer.

White will give you a brighter look. Black tends to dull colors down....

Cheers,

It depends on what model you're planning on using the Hawk Turquoise on. If it's a model like an Eldar Swooping Hawk, then a white undercoat would be good, as these guys tend to be very "in your face" with bright colours. If it's on a Space Marine, then black is better as they are not really renowned for gaudy colours (unless they're Slaaneshi Noise Marines!)

As for highlighting the colour itself, those colours already mentioned will give you different results, so it would be worth your while to check out each one to find which you are happiest with for what you want for your model.
