Thanks to GW no longer making particular paints in favor of their washes, I've hit a rather rough situation: My tyranid paint scheme depends upon their old Flesh Wash. I've attempted to see how their "Ogryn Flesh" wash does, as well as Vallejo's Skin Wash, but both of those washes provide a more even, subtle wash effect, as opposed to the GW Flesh Wash, which provides a sharper, inkier effect. While there are areas where the effect is fine, there are other areas, such as the ribbed sections of arms and joints and weapons that the sharp, sharp and bright contrast of the old Flesh wash really stands out. Does anyone know how else I can get this effect, or an equivalent paint? |

Maybe try the equivalents from other lines, like Reaper, Coat D'Arms or Tamiya (not sure if they do have ink equivalent's, you'd have to check). What if you do several layers of the washes you tried, it's still not good enough? |
