I want a new base for a fledgeling Tau army that I have plans for, and I thought hey, LO will have some good idea's. But I failed to find a stickey post with a whole bunch of idea's and/ or links to baseing idea's. I've found some random threads and a bunch of people talking about basing (recently LN got some amazing snow base results with help from minus t I think it was) but unless I'm looking in the wrong place (which is a distinct posibility) I couldn't find any one topic. I'm sure this thread won't take off but here is a couple of youtube video's that I found to be really helpful in basing my models...
YouTube - MiniWarGaming Warhammer Bases: The Basics
YouTube - Warhammer 40k Basing Tutorial
YouTube - How To Base Warhammer Miniatures
And the one I found best is...
YouTube - Baseing
Made my urban base, turned out awesome from him.
So some tips..
Use old sprue's for a muletitude of things, crystals, ruins, etc.
Use ink to hold the rocks into place.
Use rocks over just basic flock (IMO anyway) .
Dry brush several layers, it helps to fix colours when going from darker to lighter.
I hope some other people can at least add some idea's for my own personal Tau basing use...
Move forward and stay quiet brothers.
Check out my half finished blog here.
can we see some of your bases please =D....im kinda working on a Tau army and was wondering how i should base them.
well i think you should get some necron stuff and have it be a tau battle with necrons since i think they are best suited to fight each other being they are both hard hitters and distence fighters
