Default WIP Sand Knights need your opinion

Recently decided to alter the look of my Grey Knight Puritan army, wanted to change it more to a desert scheme so I began stripping everything while painting up one model as a test subject:

I'm not sure what color to paint the purity seals though so I'm looking for opinions on that. I don't want to use bleached bone or a similar color because it would blend too easily with the model, I was considering a red but that may pop out too much. Opinions please

I'd make the parchments themselves purple or red or black with white text and the seal light blue. Or perhaps red parchments and black seals with white text. Or perhaps blue seals, white text, black parchments.

Can i just congratulate you on a very nice colorsccheme? Very Pharaoh-y, very nice, does the GK proud.

Hah, thank you. That's exactly the scheme I was going for Egyptian/Pharoah-y. A red with white text and black seals could look quite nice....I still gotta finish up obviously the base and other minor details on this guy, but he's just the rough copy for the army as a whole so I'm not too worried about perfection here. Gotta go over parts of the storm bolter with codex grey, fix the base, and might test out a blue marble scheme on future NFWs. The LRs might be a pain but for now, normal models only

Real nice GK. I love your scheme but i would ink you bases with a dark brown, then do a drybrush of a light brown to give the sand the painted looks, as real life and painted thing dont look too good. You do that and youll have ace models in no time

I like this color scheme a lot - way to make use of brown's neutrality.

Does the model's armor have highlights?

Na none yet, once I finish the seals I'm going to do a slim mix of skull white and bleached bone and highlight certain aspects of the armor that pop out more than others.

Yea the base was just done rough and quick only for the picture I didn't really plan on having that based yet Gonna follow your suggestion though to follow it up, thanks.

Although part of my brain is screaming "Gray Knights! Gray Knights!" I still think that the scheme is pretty awesome.
My only real complaint is that the blue looks too clean. I know that you wanted the Pharaoh look to your models, but I think that the blue is popping out too much. 40k is a dark and brooding game, so I have a tendency to mute all of my colors and darken them a lot. I don't know though, it still seems to be working for you.
And the black weaponry. I don't know- maybe a deep crimson or a wooden color would serve better. If you wanted to go the extra mile and put a wood-grain pattern in there, it would look phenomenal. But that's your choice of course.
Still, two thumbs up for the brave new scheme.

If i go red purity seals, may I ask the wooden color scheme you had in mind to employ on the weaponry?

I do not agree, warhammer models are quite small, and to make them stand out real nice, they really benefit from a nice, bright and clean scheme. Even when making the dirty it's important to make the definitions stand out.

~ Painted the red, red gore with an overcoat of blood red, the image doesn't do it justice because of the flash, it isn't as bright as it seems, but that's the gist with brown seals.
