Airbrush question

I just bought an Iwata HP BCS (?) airbrush, the kind with the large underslung bottle for a paint reservoir. I am not getting any fluid flow (even using water) when it's hooked up to my testors air compressor. Air comes out, but no paint or water.

My friend has a different compressor, and the iwata brush sprays water just fine using his. Do I need a more powerful compressor to use the underslung paint bottle? How is the "power" measured if so?

Well, check the manometer on your compressor and see what it says. Should be around 30-45 psi, if I remember correctly. Secondly, you must remember to push down and pull back, as it's probably a dual-action airbrush.

I dose in fact sound like a clog as well. Did you buy it used or does it look like it might have been a return item. I would try to rebuild and clean the entire thing (something you will be doing a lot).
