[PIC HEAVY] Goff Klan - ORK KILLER KAN - WIP - BY BLADE.

    From this

Yeah that was the easy part....

TO THIS, about 5 layers of heavy washes and blending....

AND THEN TO FINISHING TOUCHES BEING APPLIED. TRIED A GLOW EFFECT ON LENSES.

    TOP

    LEFT

    RIGHT

Took about three weeks with school and everything, trying to figure out where I should place checkers
and hazzard stripes along with freehand glyphs.

the green lighting around the eyes came out extremely well, and the red is nice and strong aswell.

im having a hell of a time deciding on colors.
i just picked up a brush and started winging it yesterday

i just didnt want to do the typical orky red or black
i actually went with a base coat of dark gray thinking it would be a good neutral color to work with, but it just looked like primer so thats probably gonna change

Okay so if you know your tribe colors "as every ork knows em" Then painting for you should be easy.

If your doing grey - slip in some blue.

If your doing some blue slip in some orange and yellow.

Should work if you follow the color theory chart. I think I could make this the "Post your killer kan or dreadnaught pix up here" thread

how did you manage to paint it in pieces while the thing is assembled? Did you magnetize it? Just curious.

yeah, actually i did the face and shoulderpads in blue. i think im going to change the hull to a snot/camo green color and then do heavy brown washes.
we'll see how it turns out.

there needs to be a deff dread pic thread, finding painted ones online for inspiration is hard. its mostly custom made or terribad stuff

I like it. Good color choices.

Red blue, green white...They could use more layering such as a darker green, you could prob fix that with
washes and then retouch up with the regular color and than a brief highlight.

I've always had problems with white. I think you could get away with a lightly diluted badab black wash, and
    then go back over it.
