    Brother Deino (from Space Hulk)

Well, here is Brother Deino, painted up to match Sergeant Lorenzo (all of Squad Lorenzo at least will match- I haven't decided exactly how to approach Squad Gideon).

Overall, I'm very happy with how he turned out. I think the darker colors really help bring out the details on the sculpt.

I've also posted him up on Coolmini for everyone who cares to vote.

Nice, but a little to "purple" for my blood-angel tastes.

Well, I've painted quite a few of these guys in more traditional cadmium red colors, and I really wanted to do something different with my own set. That's totally fine if it isn't to everyone's taste, though. It really is a less fluffy color scheme.

Sorry I didn't mean to sound over-critical - it is a nice paint job.

The colors I used for the red were all P3, but similar colors exist in most ranges.

The red starts out with a deep magenta red (sanguine base). This was shaded with a wash made by watering down a very dark green (Gnarl's green). I then highlighted by adding in just a tiny bit of a lighter magenta (sanguine highlight) then I created sharp highlights by blending up to a pale blue (frostbite).

It is a little tricky to keep the color looking red. Make sure the highlight areas are sharp and small because otherwise, you'll end up with something that is a little too pinkish.
