Help! My marauders grew hair when I primed them

Ok. I'm a new painter. What am I doing wrong? I'm using Armory spray paint black primer to Base coat my models and they looklike chiapets. :-(.

I'm shaking the can plenty, spraying in even strokes about 12 inches away. Am I going too fast? Too slow? I don't know.

The first time I primered models I used the P3 brand that worked great. Is it the brand? any advice appreciated.

Can I/should I strip those furry models and start over?

WOW, I have never heard of this... can you take a photo of them for posterity (spelling?).

The only things I can really think of is lots of dust on the mini's or in the atmosphere when you spray, which I am sure you would notice. Or a faulty spray can... I guess I would strip them and start over not really sure what else you could do.

This phenomena occurs every time I use Armory primer. Hence why I stopped using it years ago. I'd suggest stripping them (does most of it rub off when you handle them?) and switching to a more effective brand (not necessarily GW but that's what I use).

I don't get it. I'm always hearing how people use non-GW primer and it works fine. I guess its back to P3 for me.

It could just be a faulty can. I also have one can of black at home (Army Painter I think) that sprays fuzz, while other black cans of Army Painter all work fine.
It could also be influenced by atmospheric conditions, like too hot & moist for example. If most cans you buy from that brand produce it, change brand, otherwise it could just be the odd one out.

Wow!! I do not mean to chuckle at your expense, but they look disgustingly hilarious!

I think it might be Armory quality control or storage conditions that allow a bad can out every so often. Obviously, I would avoid using them and switch to just about anything else.

Its either laugh or cry. :-) thanks for the input. I think I'll try the Simple Green to strip them and try this again.

The paint is too cool compared to the area where you are priming. Also the humidity level could also be causing this. If you are doing this outside and it's warm out. Leave the can and the mini out there for 15-20min before spraying. I would suggest using super clean from Walmart for striping as well. Put some in a gallon ice cream jug with your minis and soak them overnight. Where nitrile gloves and a paper mask as this stuff will burn your throat if you breath it in. You can find it in the automotive section, and I believe the Walmart brand is call purple power. You can just leave the liquid in the jug and keep using it for a long time. Be careful and be safe.

Or simply give 2 dollars/euro pounds whatever and buy a brown detol bottle thats not toxic.HAve them in for some hours and wash them with water to leave of the paint.

Also man i never imagined that could happen by spraying.
