    Chaos Warrior Scheme Test

Hi all. Just tested out a colour scheme for my new Nurgle army. Currently doing a bit of kit bashing and converting for the army but got bored and knocked up a basic warrior to try my scheme on. Nothing too fancy I wanted it to be quite muted. Basing isn't how I'll do the main army but c&c welcome

You succeded in making him muted. I like the almost OD green used on him as well. The only thing I would do is make the cloak a little darker. I think it is too white for the model.

    Thanks

There are a few reasons I chose I light cloak. A darker one would pull the model down too much and it would all become very muddy. I'm also going to be going for quite a heavy snow theme overall too when I get down to painting them properly. Also when the marauders are painted up with a pale flesh it will give a similarity.

I'll see how it pulls together as a whole though and if it does seem too light I can tone it down easily enough.

    Thanks for the comments though

Well if you are doing snow then the white cloak makes sense.

The white cloak might wash them out a bit in the snow though. I'd use a darker brown on the feathers too, to give a solid block between the cloak and the backs of the head, otherwise the regiment will be a big grey smear when viewed from behind. Just my opinion though - the guy already looks ace.
I am not offering any comments regarding the Banner of the World Dragon at this time. For my thoughts on the situation, please refer to the following scene from vintage film: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYiv76qRCkA

The green looks good. I would change the contrast on the cloak a bit more between the cloak and the fur trim. As it is the colors are very similar to each other. Perhaps either go a bit lighter with the cloak and/or a bit darker or a different shade to the fur trim. Otherwise not bad.

    Cheers,

I think you could try putting a Sepia wash on the fur trim to get a slightly warmer look to it and not only would it contrast, but keep the backs from looking too solid. I like the grey look to the capes and with the winter basing theme, it works well.

I really like this fellow! Keep it up!
Which armies do I have? Holy Cow - I've got three boys, so what armies do I NOT have??
Win/Loss Ratio? - I usually let my boys win, so frankly, it stinks...

I'm definitely with you guys on the contrast between the fur and the cloak. Originally I started brown on the fur but it's been lost in the highlights. Think a glaze of sepia might work well actually so I'll be giving that a bash

Great use of the zombie bits. And, of course, the Possessed sprue again proves to be amazing with conversion possibilities.

Hope you're able to post the whole unit up when it's done.
