well, to prevent that from happening make sure you keep your paints closed at all times, and when you need to use that colour, dont take it straight form the little can thing, put some on to a pallet and use it from there. Now to fix it try adding some water to it, and if its to dry for that to work then i guess its toast and your going to have to buy another

Once upon a time...

I had some Ral Partha acrylic paints (about 30 different colors) I boxed up, put in the attic & forgot about them...10 years (or so) later (ugh...I know) I find them after cleaning up the attic. Being the cheap ***** I am I tried to resurrect them using plenty of hot water, time, and feverish stirring. Here's what I found out:

- Dark colored paints survived better than light colored paints (don't know why that is)

- Depending on just how dry the paints are you may need to repeat the process (ie. add hot water, stir, leave overnight, drain excess water, & repeat the process)

- Putting a drop or two of olive oil in particularly dry paints softened up the dry paint enough to respond to hot water & stirring (this worked better on lighter colored paints like, white, yellow, and red...again, don't know why)

Out of those 30 or so paints I was able to revive about 22 of them. Hope this helps & let me know how it turns out...Good luck!

ive heard that if you put 2-3 drops of water on top of the paint when you are done with it, it will help keep em from drying out

What do you have in greens & blues? Let me know what you have on hand & maybe we can mix something close to jade green.

maybe some ice blue with snot green and goblin green. Just try some stuff out, mix what you think might work, experiment with it

I think your best bet is to experiment the blues & use snot green as your base. IMO dark angels green is too dark and goblin green is too earthy a shade. I would mix it on a bathroom tile (preferably white) so you can compare each test patch next to each other until you get to a color you like. I would suggest two parts snot green to one parts ice blue to start out with & work your way from there.

Isn't there some sort of paint mixing chart about GW paints? A chart that says '1 part black, 1 part white for codex grey' for example. If there is no such thing, maybe someone should write one and get it pinned? Would be helpful.
