Isn't the price different from metallics? I thought they were a dollar more or something because they have little bits of metal in them. I just go to my local hobby store. $2.25 for all the paints. At first I thought that was ungodly expensive, but so are all citadel minis. I learned to live with it.

I think the metallics are supposed to be more expensive but they are all one price at my local game store.

hmm, i may indeed have a solution- not a cheaper one, mind, but one that will last a great deal longer.

while perusing a military modelling magazine a week or two past, i came upon an advertisement article ('this is whats new!' kind of a deal) that was telling abot a company that sells the base pigments in the cans, instead of simply paint. if your willing and able to take the time to learn to mix your own paints, then this is the way to go- its something that i'm currently looking into (although being several thousand miles away from sed article doesn't help much, and i don't remember the name of the company that makes it).

that being said, the only cheap alternative i know of that i would readily recommend is the 'folkart' paints at wal-mart, available for about a dollar a bottle. they come in most, if not all, of the gw colors (not exactly matched up, but close enough) and also have something they call 'pearlescents'- perfect for the not-quite metallic but still-reflective surfaces, such as burnished white armor, or perhaps a metallic blue or purple.

im getting a bit sick of the price of the paints,are the old pots in collectors(in the gw onlien store)?^^(the really old hexagonal ones)

im having to live with a VERY small range of pots to pain tyranids ultramarines(both swame color due to lo budget)
necrons and tau, and cadians

i just cant affored GW paints, yet i do(im 15 and jobless with 0 pocket money)
so stressful. i got some of them old pots and they are cheaper and more efficiant than even the latest ones(for the price) in my opinion.

im also still buying to expencive GW paint because in holland we don't have got enough other paints that are of the same quality. motsly they are too shiny or they are bad quality. GW paint is expensive but good.

Ya its no secret GW paints are a RIP off.

3.50 for 12ml ahahahaha, i'll never buy that stuff

I go with 60ml for 99c.

And, as many people can attest to these paints work fine.
