Terminators & Painting scheme.

My main Chapter colours are Midnight Blue, Enchanted Blue, & Chainmal.
When Painting, I try to make it look as though the Midnight blue is 'basic' armour, while the Enchanted Blue is the raised extra plates. All decorum & Shoulders are in Chainmail. Heads are Midnight with the back frame and ridges on the helmet Enchanted Lenses are green and Heraldry is Regal blue.

With Terminators, this looks quite cool.

I also have a system differing from the convention, Librarians are not Ultramarines blue, they are the normal scheme but with the opposite Greave to their force weapon in silver with a Regal blue glyph. Techmarines are only red on their left arm and right shoulder pad. Apocetharies replace the Enchanted Blue with white on all bar their right arm and head. There are no Chaplains, but War Priests, and they only have Midnight armour under Enchanted robes. The Champion of Hiigara is split between Chapter colours & Black.

The three Sons of Liberty are painted as normal, but with Regal blue, Boltgun Metal, and Enchanted Blue replacing their respective colours. They also have their right shoulder pad painted white with a black Chapter logo.

That's the basic scheme...

Specialists have little extra features which make them stick out in their uniformity: Sergeants wear full-length Tabars; Assault Marines wear MkVI (beak) helmets; Heavy Weapons wear helmets with eyepieces; standard Terminators all have banners; and Terminator Sergeants wear a Shoulderpad over their face (dome).

All fatigues and cloaks are white except for War Priests, which are blue, and Commanders, which are black. Every Powerfist or Chainfist is Burnished Gold and the Greave opposite is the same. Weapon casing is black.

That's the extras...

What I'm having troubles with are the Assault Terminators. What shoul I do with them? I'm going to keep the Sergeant having the shoulderpad face shield, bu am completely unsure of what else. I don't know If I should paint the Lightning Claws the same colour as the powerfists, and if not, what colour to do them. The Thunder Hammers & Storm Shields are unknown as well.

Any suggestions? Please try to base them on the rest of the Chapter.

It sounds like your marine army has had a lot of thought put into it what with specific helmets for certain things, sounds great.

I'm not actually sure i can visualize your army and make a suggestion on the assault termies colour schemes.

But to try to keep the theme of certain helmes for certain jobs what about using marine helmets on the termies, I saw the marine army in City of death book did this with his army commander rather successfully with a black templars knight like helmet. Maybe sourcing 5 of those helmets. or no helmets and bare heads only to show how they like to look in the eye of their enemy before ripping its heart out.

So, Normal heads in the Assault Marines? I like it. Maybe expose the head of anybody with a storm shield as the shield should protect them.

I tried the Assault Termie head being the normal one. It looks alright, I'll give it that, but it's too much shaving and no margin for error. I think I'll just let it be that one guy to give him some character.

Nice looking minis.

How about painting all your termies (1st company) with gold helmets, bit like blood angel honour guard.

Because they aren't 1st company (which has the same scheme as the Sons of Liberty), They'll probably have to go without the gold heads. They have the banners each, maybe not the assault Termies, but the normal ones do.

Do you think they'd look good with red lines coming from their eyes? That and:

The claws start as midnight and fade to blood red, as do both greaves.
Hammers get the same greave as black with gold foot. Also, they get a small shoulder shield on the hammer hand.
Assault Terminators all get Purity seals hanging from their shoulder or shield, Sergeants get a cape.

Any good?

What you suggested sounds ok, except the red lines, i'm not seeing their significance and red on blue is too much of a contrast.
