Here is a couple of pics of my Raven Guard Chaplain and Assault marine, they are probably my best mini's, althouhg people seem to like my Eldar Wraithlord a lot, i don't think it is as good as these guys. so far the are all i have painted, i decided to use the librarian model for my chaplain as i prefer it to the chaplain model and it is something different. the chaplain doesn't yet have a jump pack as i haven't ordered it yet! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Here are some of my "best" miniatures. I like them for different reasons. First up - I did a commission for some blood angel terminators that had the forgeworld shoulderpads. I really liked the overal end look to these guys. They were relatively quick to paint up and the end result was neat and clean. Not technically my most sophisticated paint job but they are pleasing on the eyes and easy to do. ![]() ![]() ![]() Next: A couple of zombie dragons I did - I really like. One I really like how the base came out. I went for a swamp base and wanted to include some swamp water. This was my first attempt at something like this and I think it works. Basically I build up the sides put part of a skeletal horse embedded into the side. Painted the bottom a camo green and added several layers of Woodland scenic water until it was smooth. On one of the final layers of water I added some fine flocking to create a "dirty" moss/algae encrusted water. for the other dragon I really like how my experiment with water color inks worked on the wing membranes. I think the skintone turned out nice as well. ![]() ![]() Moving along: My latest bloodbowl team was probably my first concerted effort to create a unified look through everything needed for the game at my recent standards of painting. I had an old bloodbowl team but it wasn't up to snuff. I am really happy with how these guys turned out and I really enjoy playing the game with them - even if they aren't the best team! ![]() ![]() Continuing: I have never really been one to do NMM but I wanted to give it a shot and I tried it on the confrontation models. This was kind of for fun so I basically painted as the box art. I think it turned out to match pretty good and overall there are things I really like with this figure. I like how some of the metals turned out (though the mace isn't quite there) and the design on the blade turned out better than I expected. ![]() Not to forget: My slowly growing fantasy chaos army has been a real treat so far. I had played some path to glory and really enjoyed it so I thought about starting a full fledged chaos army. Since I don't really play I have been taking my time. My Archaon on Foot is probably one of my favorites. I really love the base idea. I wanted something to make him look grand and special. He became the test for how my army will eventually look color and base wise. I also put together part of a regiment of chaos warriors. Again the look is just what I wanted and the coloration is fairly simple so that they would be easy to paint up. ![]() ![]() Moving along: I wanted to eventually do a witch hunter army. This figure while not my favorite I really like the coloration of the armor and how it turned out. The reds are not quite to my liking - my more recent stuff I think looks better... ![]() Sons of Dorn: This has been a pet project of mine and I am proud to say that I have painted up nearly 1200 points of them (my most complete fully painted project) if you include all the wargear etc. etc. etc. They started as a contest I labored for months over the color combinations and ultimately decided on a variation from an army at the back of the how to paint space marines book. I liked the look of the figures but wanted to do a little something to make them my own. Here are some results: ![]() ![]() ![]() The best for last: My favorite of all my figures so far has to be a Nurgle Terminator Lord that I did. While not the most sophisticated conversion I think that it has a lot going for it that works very well. Paramount it set the color pattern for how my re-painted Nurgle themed chaos army will look. The spine exposed in the back is both icky and looks cool. The coloration of the severed trophy heads on the back really worked well. I also really like the coloration of the fleshy tubes coming from his armor. They didn't model exactly like I envisioned but looking at a close up picture I almost vomited! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Well I wasted enough space re-counting some of my favorite models. I think bottom line my favories really are ones where I spent the extra time doing unique and interesting basework, worked on a common theme, or tried new and interesting techniques. I hope you enjoy and I look forward to continuing to see what others have done. This is a cool topic and I am glad it was posted! ![]() Cheers, -Mike

I really like that commisar, nice work. Here are a couple pics of my best. I have an Abaddon I did too that turned realy good (for me) but no pics. I plan to start working on a model soon for an entry at the June GT. figured 6 months should give me enough time to do it right. ![]() ![]()
