I just would like to ask how would the basic infantry outfit be achieved if I am applying this to a "pyromaniacs" army. Yes, I know I have not posted here in a while but I am getting back into 40k now. I am thinking red with yellow or orange or any other colors, I can't decide, but I am not sure how to arrange the colors and the GW coloring thing doesn't really help. Any ideas from those who have painted their models in a similar way, or have seen it done well? Thanks! |

For a start you could try looking this lot up. The Legion of the damned, here is a link to the GW site, GW Online : Warhammer 40,000 : Space Marines : The Cursed Foundings - Pt 2 I know they aren't Imperial guard but it's a start when looking for a pyromaniac colour scheme. Basically black with white flames painted on then paint the flames yellow. Another way could be to make much of the clothing the soldiers are wearing grey, like ash. You could paint on areas that are ragged and darkened as if they have on occasion burnt themselves. A banner or two with pictures of fire etc will help to reinforce this. The burnt bodies of enemies, twigs and so forth on the bases of your models will help to show they like to burn things. Another colour scheme is a warm one. Red and black or red and yellow. This can be done in any pattern to get the effect of heat and warmth. Add to this I imagine many models in a pyromaniac army will have flamers and people will get an idea that they like to burn things. If you want a flame-like camo-pattern there are a few ways. A very distinct stripey effect will show it. You could also try a more smudged, black and red effect to show the messy nature of fire. |

Well, I just found out my list was in need of infantry, so bought a new pack today, and all of me boyz are still grey as da day dey been bought outta dat bockz!!! Thanks leech for the info, I like the idea of the Red and Black scheme, I will look up any way to get a charred effect on clothes and heads (possible brown>red>black?). In the meantime, any topic replies may also have the method for that too! I love the charred heads idea, I have spare nids, chaos, and IG heads to speak for it, mwahahahaha! P.S. Parasite, you devillish fiend you now have a young woman in your avatar and over 700 posts! What in the hell happened to the nooby who had a south park avatar?! The noob with the south park avatar died long ago, defeated by his own noobiness. But out of the mist came a new thing. An enhanced thing with Jessica Alba as an avatar and nearly 800 posts as a post count. Awaken the PaRaSiTe.
