Default My Skitarii as they stand so far...

Here's a pic of my army, with a bunch of other individual pics scattered throughout the IG pic forum.

Still very much a work in progress however... But as I finally go my hands on a digital camera for a few minutes I though I may as well post this anyway!

More than a little interesting! I gave up my Skitarii a while back, but honestly, they were nothing on this. I think your metals could have used a little work, and the storm troopers look a little out of place (a splash of red, perhaps?) but besides that... brilliant!

Cheers!

Re; the metals, yeah, so do I. But thats ok, I rushed these guys anyway - ill be touching up and finishing the whole army sometime in the future, so that will hopefully be fixed.

As for the storm troopers, i've started giving them half-cog insignias on their shoulder pads for that splash of orange/red, just to tie them in.

Fluff-wise however, the storm troopers aren't actually skitarii - they are inducted rogue trader private army troops, travelling with my explorators, so it doesn't matter too much if they are a different colour. Also, I think it gives the army more contrast as a whole if they are a different sceme. Nonetheless, you are fairly correct on that count.

Nice! Some very cool conversions and a simple, yet effective colour scheme! I really like your conversion using the new Warrior Priest model.

Thanks! The funny thing is, it was a conversion that just sortof fell together. I had the spare poweraxe, bits for the bionic eye, and the greenstuff hood was really easy to sculpt on. Also the teeth for the eviscerator goodness were suprisingly easy to attach - weird. Maybe I was just having a good day, but some of the bionic arms on other troops were much more difficult, they just didn't seem to want to work half the time.

not really. Skitarii are justlike any other Imperial Guard except their from forge worlds so they tend to have the "bonus" (bionics ect) of working for the AM.

Yeah, thats pretty much true - that, and the fact that unlike IG, they don't fight for the emperor.

There was a campaign in the Oz white dwarf a while back with skitarii VS 'nids, and there were lots of robes present then - but the skitarii guy did state the robes were there 'cos they were modelled for an ice world, and they needed them to keep warm!

Also, robes can help with converting, as you don't have to put as much effort into your bionics seeing as you can hide the messy bits.

My veterans that i'm currently working on are going to wear robes, however, at least to make them stand out from the rest of my army. That and the 2 to 4 mechatendrites sprouting from their back.
