Welcome to Librarium Online!
I can't be the only person is who is disappointed(OR pissed) bout DoW 2, I mean nothing bout this game makes it look like a RTS. As it stands right now, this game is basically a RPG.
I mean so far we have:
Boss Battles that require unique attacks to kill, and who have special attacks.. Like shockwave. (Note, not actual name, it's just what the attack does.)
Heavy dependence on Gear, much like WoW.
EXP to level up
Color coded Loot (WoW like)
Super Powerful Heroes.
EDIT: does this sound like a good idea to anyone? That right their sounds so horrendously bad that it defies all logic and common sense.During the mission we were shown, which takes place in a rainy, jungle-like environment, the main goal is to kill an Ork warboss. Upon reaching his hideout on the map, a short cut-scene triggers where the boss taunts our squads briefly then shifts into battle. In addition to the giant Ork, swarms of smaller foes stream in from the top of the screen. The scene looks more like something from Diablo II than a real-time strategy game. The warboss even has a boss health meter visible at the screen's top and special attacks, like a shockwave move and a ground attack that lights up terrain in a line before a string of explosions triggered. The tactics of taking him down involve moving troops out of the way of his ground shockwave, steering clear of his melee attacks, and keeping a squad focused on clearing out the Ork rabble that keeps spawning. Once he is finally killed, he drops his gun, which is labeled as a "blue" item.

I look at the in game trailers and think 'Awesome Dawn Of War with the same graphical detail as Starcraft 2... Nice'
So what in god's name are you talking about?!? Its being presented in the same way that Dark Crusade was revealed so where are you getting all of this RPG crap from?
So you're one of the people who want Relic to stick with its winning *cough* formula? I don't know about you but for me Soulstorm was so bad I don't think they should continue.
The new ideas being brought in by DoW2 seem awesome. I guess some people would just like DoWC with better graphics, but not me, bring on the new generation!
I found Dark Crusade was brilliant the campaign was brilliantly structured and each of the races and commanders had character.

I'm sure if you took only a few minutes to look around, you could find more.
DoW being a critical acclaimed game?
CoH being one of the highest critical acclaimed games of all time?
Diablo like Boss fights, are what makes this game sound soooo bad.
Or, I can not play CoH, and say it anyway. Which I am.
Sure, the past games have been good, nobody's disagreeing. Does that mean we want to see carbon copies of the same games over and over and over?
Seriously. Just play the old one if you don't want to play the second one, and let them work on actually making other good games instead of complaining that they aren't doing the same thing again.
SWEET!!! Its gonna be like Company Of Heroes that game is awesome
I'm really looking forward to this now.
And to the OP, Warcraft 3 contained RPG elements and that worked really well. Besides, the 'heavy dependance on gear' was in DC and SS depending on how you played it (or exploited it). After a few games, your HQ could destroy bases on his own.
Point is, to keep single player fun, they have to do a little better than "Dawn of War with better graphics and bugs".
