Welcome to Librarium Online!
Okay, so I've recently installed Dawn Of War: Winter Assault. Disc 1 is in the drive, nd I have the latest version of DirectX installed. When I select Winter Assault from the Start menu or from the Shortcut, I get an error message saying
System Initialization Failed!
Spooge driver not found. Verify that DirectX is properly installed.
After I click OK, a new window appears, the "Dawn of War Graphics Configuration" window. It is completely blank save for a "Cancel""Next" and "Back" button, the next and back buttons being shaded out.
When I click cancel a warning pops up, saying that
"Exiting will lose all changes you have made and may result in Dawn of War running incorrectly, or not at all.
Do you really want to exit the configuration utility now?"
Can someone please help me?
I have never encountered this error before, but from the message, it sounds like Dawn of War is having a problem reading the DirectX drivers correctly. You should try running the Graphics Configuration utility before you start Dawn of War (didn't that happen automatically?) in order to re-calibrate you graphics. Otherwise, check the Relic Forums, Spooge errors are quite common and they probably have a thread lurking around somewhere describing how to fix them.
spooge drive?? what the hell?
