Welcome to Librarium Online!
i was supposed to design a computer that would be my christmas present. i was planning on getting the dell xps 410 and upgrading the memory to 2 gigabytes. then i was going to go up to 512mb video card, but just the video card is $470 american more. so, i started looking around and i found the ATI RADEON X1600 PRO 512MB 8X AGP Video Card. this is less than half the price of the one that comes with the system. i wanted to know if it is compatible. please help!
Taken from the Dell site -
Expansion Slots PCI: 3 Slots
PCIe x1: 1 Slot
PCIe x16 (Graphics): 1 Slots
PCIe x4/x8: 1 Slot
No AGP slot listed, so the card you listed won't be compatible. You'll need to get a PCI Express video card.
Might I suggest the Nvidia 7950GT? It's a good card for it's price - usually runs around 250 to 280 dollars. My only complaint about it is the noise it produces, but that's to be expected with beefy Video Cards.
i dunno. it doesn't matter much about the noise, but i don't prefer it. is there any way i could get a different kind of slot? wow, that sounded dirty. i am just looking for a good video card that is compatible with the dell xps 410. and is under $250.
could i possibly use this? it is PCi.
