Welcome to Librarium Online!
Well, I will soon have enough cash to buy myself the Xbox 360 I've been wanting for forever. I want it before the Wii and before the PS3, so I don't want anyone to tell me to get either of those. :ninja:
However, I don't know a whole lot about all of the games. Here's the list of what I am going to get - FFXI will be coming first, because I liked it on the PS2:
- Final Fantasy XI
- Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
- Dead or Alive 4
- Rainbow Six: Las Vegas
- Gears of War
- Ninety Nine Nights
- Ghost Recon: AW
Besides FFXI, DOA4 and Oblivion, I know very little about the other games. Any info on them would be helpful! Also, I'd like to hear some recommendations for other Xbox 360 games that are fun - I prefer (in this order) RPGs, FPSs, and some action/adventure/fighting games.
Thanks in advance!
When you get it and set up your gamer tag, let me know and I'll add ya as a buddy.
My collection consists of -
So a simlar setup to yours, but not quite. Dead Rising is the game I'd recommend first to you. You might also look into Lost Planet. If you like big huge 'Mechs, then Chromehounds might interest you, but definetly rent it before purchasing.
- Gears of War
- Call of Duty 2
- Lego Star Wars II
- Dead Rising
- Ghost Recon: AW
Also, keep in mind games coming out in the future. Mass Effect will be released shortly, which is a Sci-Fi RPG by Bioware, the makers of NeverWinter Nights and KOTOR. Bioshock is the one I'm most looking forwards to, which is supposed to be released within the new few months.

Hope I helped.
You asked for info on the other games. Okay, I'll give you my impressions:
Gears of War:
Start with the one that's gonna irritate people. The game is amazing looking. For a 3rd Person Shooter, it really is visually stunning, and goes a long ways to showing off the power of the 360. The fights are fun, and the combat system is intuitive and interesting.
The plot just sucks. Not enough back story, and the last chapter seems 'tacked on.' The single player game is also very short, and I started the game on Hardcore. I never did bother going online with it, as everything I've heard about it was just bad. Lag, cheaters, to 'shotgun newbs.' So while the game is pretty, I feel it lacks any real substance.
Rainbow Six: Vegas
I rented this one and played it for four days straight, and just barely made it to the third mission. This game is hard. (Of course, I was playing on Realistic...) But it's a satisfying hard. The control scheme was tough to get used to - I didn't like having to hold a button down in order to stay in cover. I would think my guy smart enough to stay in cover until I told him to leave it...
But once you get past the first mission, this game is a lot of fun.
Ghost Recon: AW
To be honest, I played the campaign through the hardest setting once, beat it, and haven't picked it up since. There was nothing really wrong with the game, but I didn't find it engaging enough. I really dislike games where my targets are 100 meters away and just red dots on my screen. I prefer occassionaly to have opponents up in my face where I can blast them at point blank range.
Haven't played any of the others, sorry.
edit: Hm. Gears of War sounds like a fun game to look at and play, but not to really immerse oneself into... I prefer immersing myself into my games, which is why I'm looking forward to Oblivion. I'll think about Rainbow Six, as I've always had fun with those games.
Also, forgot to add I'm getting Halo 3 once it comes out. Loved the first one, second one was still good, so I can't wait for the third. ^_^
My one and only gripe with Call of Duty 2 was infinately respawning enemies. But to have only one gripe with a game is pretty significant for me.
And you responded quicker than I edited my original post.
i dont have an Xbox 360, although my best friend has. Gears of War looks amazing, although i wasnt too sure about the control mechanism when i played it. Good fun though, and good on 2-player split screen co-op.
I love the Call of Duty games on the PC, and even the PS2 versions are fun (well Big Red One was anyway) so id definatly get those if i were you and if you like FPS game, they are very well done and great level design.
Lost Planet looks great but ive never had the opportunity to play it.
Oh ISS pro evo 6 if you like football (soccer) not played it on Xbox but the game is great whatever platform its on
