Annoying Driver Problem

Hey guys
First post in a long time, so bare with me.

My computer has been giving me the... well, for forums sake let's say I want to toss it because it so old. I have a HP Pavillion Pentium 4 with some pretty embarassing properties. I won't go into the whole blame game, but it is pretty old. Anyway, inside is an nVidia TNT2 M64 graphics card (45.23) which is the whole source of my problems.
Running the first Dawn of War, it installs fine, but then get the wholesome and fabled Spooge Error. Righteo, off to nVidia I go. Find the appropriate and latest driver for the card (which in my case is a Forceware Version 71.89), and get an error saying the following:

"The nVidia setup cannot locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit."

Now after 'googling' and not really finding much help, I turn to the brainpower here. Hopefully someone can help in finding a solution to my problem, so I can get on with the maiming and the bloodshed and hearing the screams in the night!

Whenever I've had problems with updating graphics drivers, I've tried the "not quite latest" drivers to see if that works...and i work backwards from there until I find a set that works. However, I have a relatively recent (12 months old) video card so it's a little easier to work with. (I probably need to consider checking for updates soon...thanks for reminding me )

As an observation, the relic forums do mention that DoW works best with a GeForce 2 card or better. By the looks of it, your TNT2 predates the GeForce 2 series, so that's where you could be coming unstuck.

TNT2's are are about 5 years older than DoW.

Also when you’re updating drivers it’s usually a good idea to uninstall the current driver’s fist.
So try uninstalling the driver, rebooting, and then installing.

Hope it woks for you, computers can be a pain.
