Hay guys,I stumbled across Hordes on the weekend on youtube. Some guy had a demo macth on there,I then looked it up on the net and cheacked out all the factions,And Skorne Seem to look the bets to me,I always go for an army because of looks But id like to know what there like in combat along with the other factions.Any help would be great Thanks!!
Im very new to the game and have only played a few games so far. But I can share some of my experience.
I would say that skorne is the most elite army of them all, pretty much every single beast/unit has nice stats and potential to do alot of damage. If used for the task they where ment to perform or used in combination with other beast/unit that promotes the best synergy, many things can take out virtually anything in the game.
Skorne is not a fast army, and they tend to strugle with terrain. That beeing said there are ways to boost the speed, paingivers and morghul is a good example, andother would be ancestrial guardians with zaal.
Skorne are in general a quite resilient army, and with the right animus we can take quite a beating and still be standing. And overall it seems to me that rather then trying to assasinate it is a better strategy to try and wear down the opponensts army before going for the big kill. By utalizing things such as ancestral guardians and spells such as deathmarh or last stand, Skorne can get more lethal after taking some casualties.
Ther are way more indepth and accurate strategies out there but these are just some thoughts from a new Skorne player.
All in all Skorne is a fun and somewhat challanging army to play, and I think the more you think of different combinations to play there are tons of synergy to be utalized.
Thanks for the info Skorne is the reson im getting in to hordes, and iv just bought the hordes primal book so im reading up on there rules and stats.
Skorne are awesome. I love the persian/samurai feel to them and their militaristic-looking army.
Basically the Skorne army is all about each unit mutually supporting the others. All Skorne units are good, but none are super and they need the support from otehr stuff to be most effective.
Also, they have Xerxes, who is beyond badass (favourite Hordes model).
I'm sorry that I missed your thread but I'm looking forward to hearing how this works out for you. The warpack is a very good deal and does not require much to be taken to 500pts. I recomend it.
I really love the titans! There the models that caught my eye.I want to field a few of them, maily the bronze back, but what do you trhink i should do tatics wise as im new to this game,im thinking about making my armie to about Grand Melee size (750pts).
Oh and to start of i think imgoing to buy the starter kit with Morghoul in it.
If you want to field a good ammount of titans (2 I guess. More is just too much I think and none of the Skorne warlocks can really handle that), Hexeris or Morghul is your man. At least two groups of Paingivers would be needed to.
I'm no expert on Skorne and only got a few battlebox games with them, but I really noticed that everything needs to work togheter. Getting several battlebox games will be an excellent starting point.
