Welcome to Librarium Online!
So i was looking through Evolution and realized the kind of synergy that Saeryn has with Shredders. Ussualy I see Vayl used in Shredder spam lists, but im seeing that Searyn could pull it off as well. Her feat could potentialy save shredders from themselves when they frenzy. If too many frenzy and they are forced to attack eachother, she can pop her feat and prevent up to 12 shredders from being targeted by the melee attacks of your other shredders. When it becomes impossible to attack the other shredders, they frenzy normaly. Then you can have your Shepards make them (If close enough) automaticaly fail the normal frenzy and send them at the enemy.
Is there anything I missed that prevents this?
Even with her feat, i'm not sure Saeryn is the ideal warlock for this list. I realize it isn't too powerful but in an ideal situation it could potentialy win a game. Plus it'd be fun.
I think you have missed something, Zygh.
As far as I can tell, the order you are suggesting is this:
- Activate Shredders, kill things, accrue fury
- Activate Saeryn, pop feat
Is this right?
In this case, however, Saeryn's feat will expire in the next Maintainance phase, which occurs *before* leeching and threshold checks, meaning that it cannot stop the Shredders attacking each other...
Shredders (IMO) work best (and most effeciently) when they are forced to go rabid, then advance (not charge), and make 2 fully boosted attacks (1 fury to go rabid, 1 fury for an extra attack).
This gets much more out of them than allowing them to frenzy, as they will always attack what you want them to, and get to attack twice, being significantly more 'fury effecient' than making one fully boosted attack, as they would when frenzied.
If you are using them like this, Vayl is probably the best choice due to her huge fury stat, allowing her to run 4 shredders fully hot, while standing far enough back that she is fairly safe to be standing around without fury on her...

I am fairly certain the shepard over-rides the shedder frenzy rule because the shepard rule is worded, when warbeast within 5 inches of the shepard frenzies, its control decides who it will attack.
Whenever something frenzies there is an order for the targets it will go after, shedders just change that order by inserting other shredders in front of the normal target. However, with a shepard you can choose it yourself. Though you don't want your shredders frenzying anyways.
