So LO, I was curious. Would a highlander style unit list be viable? That is, will multiple units of the same type be necessary?
And as a follow-up, with Mk. II on the way, will many units lose the abilities that made them unique?
Most units fill a particular role in an army and as such, bringing multiples (3+) of the same unit is often inadvisable. It is often better to have multiple units with different roles so that your army is adapt at confronting multiple threats effectively.
The Mk II rules take a lot of the "unnecessary" special rules, or confusing special rules out. Most units are still just as unique as before, however, Mk II is not for everyone. Try a few games out and see what you think of the demo.
There are some, albeit, lists more for fun than competition that run a load of one unit...mark1 Holy Zealots for instance, but BloodBlade is right, each unit has a defined role.
And I just want to make sure you know mark 2 is half a year or so away, don't let that change how you play now. And noone knows really what mk2 will be like, we have an idea from the fieldtest but only the privateer press guys really know what the end product will be like
