Cygnar 'training wheels' list -plz help

    Hello all!

I have finally caught the Warmachine bug, and have decided on Cygnar. Why? Because I haven't painted a blue army, and I don't have a 'good guys' army, so it fixes both problems.

After reading a bunch of posts, here is my plan for the army that will teach me the game - It's not complete.

    25-35points (Which is more common?)

    ~pStryker

    - Ironclad
    - Lancer
    Charger

    --Squire

    ~Journeyman Warcaster
    --Hunter

    ~Black 13th Gun Mage group

Now, at this point I don't know what else to get. Any ideas??

    Thanks!!

I would suggest dropping some of the 'jacks out of your list. The Hunter+Journeyman combo is quite effective, but with a starting army I'd suggest more troops. A Lancer and Ironclad are a solid 'jack core for Cygnar, and if you could make the addition of Longunners and some melee troopers (sword knights, storm blades, precusor knights ect.) it will make your force much more effective by adding some bodies and flexibility to your list.

Here is the beginnings of my army - I have the starter box, and a Hunter so far.

    Photos are very WIP....

The blue is looking really nice, even though I find red a much nicer colour

I only suggest the Lancer as Arc Nodes are generally a big deal in games. It opens up a number of flexibilities with earthquake and the offensive spell at Strykers disposal, and is a much more resilient 'jack with a high DEF and a shield for respectable ARM. Don't get me wrong though, at higher pt values or different builds the Charger is a cheap and effective light.

No. And haven't painted anything other than what's all ready photographed. (I do not play with unpainted minis... A character flaw, I guess... )

That said, I did get the miniatures for the Journeyman Warcaster, Squire, and Black 13th squad. Nice sculpts!

I still need some 'regular' troops. I'm leaning towards Stormblades or Precursor Knights.
