2 The Forsaken
Should I use a Sheperd instead of the Forsaken?
Is that list any good?

I'd definately take the Shepard if you are commeted to this list, if not, I'd drop one (Or both) Carniveans and make room for some units or light beasts. Leggionaires still gel well with ole Thaggy, and are a formidable unit in their own right.
Seraph might be good for both harassing and assassination roles, and doesn't eat up a chunk of points. Typhon I know took a hit when the book and deck finally arrived, but is still a commendable Heavy (Just a tad slower).
Not being a LoE main or familiar with their newer rules though this is just going by my current knowledge, maybe this set up is taking tournaments and I am just out of the loop, but playing Beast heavy is just rather difficult for most factions in Hordes (Legion CAN pull it off, but with a different 'Caster and army selection).
From what I've played I really like the typhon coupled with two nephlim soldiers. They are awesome. From there I generally add in a couple of forsaken as they are amazing for fury management and a few lesser warbeasts. The rest is up to you. I never take more than one heavy with a caster that isn't prime Thragosh. Simply because people focus them too fast and then you lose a big chunk of your army.
I serve my master and do as he wants. He wants the badlands, thus they will be his.

Despite the thread necromancy, I'd say fury management is fine with the forsaken, but I would drop a carnivean for an Angelius and a shredder. Overall, I think it will work out a lot better and truth be told, the angel's powerful armor pierce attack is nothing to be ignored. As for taking more than one heavy, I run a three heavy Absylonia list at 25 points (Angel, Scytheon, Typhon) and it's pretty scary and the fury management is fine. I am planning on changing it up with a Raek when the cash becomes spareable, though because a Raek with Abby is awesome (Give it Playing God and it can jump behind other jacks/beasts and lock them from behind so they can't do anything about it). At 35, I run a T4 list with 2 forsaken, 2 shredders, 2 stingers, and a shepard added to the list.
