Welcome to Librarium Online!
so I'm trying to convince the people I play Warhammer with to try Warmachine but I'm having trouble desiding on what army to get. I'v looked over the models a bit and I'm basically trying to chose between Cryx and The Protectorate of Menoth since I think both of them have really cool models.
So, Could someone give a few pros and cons of the two armies and maybe some tips for a newcommer?

Cryx! Because Cryx are just better than Menoth!
Ah, on a slightly more serious note... A general overview is that Cryx is all about fast units that hit hard, using sneaky tricks that cripple your opponent and let you finish them, usually by killing their caster. Also, a lot of their stuff is undead, which means it's not scared of anythin' and won't run away when you don't want it to. Generally speaking, though, Cryx units are not all that well armoured, so if you get into a protracted combat you're likely to lose out. And we don't have many units that are decent at range - a few, but not many.
Menoth tend to field a bunch of cheap, not all that good units, but they also have other support units that can buff your army until it's scarily useful. So, Buffs and Denial are your watchwords for these guys. Also Fire. They do love their fire.
As far as specific stuff... I'm only going to attempt specific stuff for Cryx, as I don't have much more than a general knowledge of Menoth.
Most important choice is probably going to be your Warcaster, as how that 'caster plays will have a considerable impact on what you want to take with them. An example, if you'll ignore my terrible mangling of names; Deneghra is very much a spell-caster, not suited to the front-lines of combat. She'll likely work best hanging back, using arc-nodes on bone-jacks to fling her spells across the battlefield. Skarre is more a charge-forward-and-hit-stuff Warcaster, so having some hard-hitting units (Helljacks, Bane Thralls or the like) to support her works well.
A Skarlock thrall is very handy, regardless of your Warcaster. I never feel I have enough focus, so free spells are always good!
In the same light, I am a strong advocate of the Seether, mainly because it's quite focus-efficient and because it can throw stuff!
Proxying units is always a good start - You can get a cut-down version of the basic rules either from the Privateer Press website, or from a Battlebox, which will also give you roughly enough stuff to make a small starter army. I can't remember what's in the Cryx Battlebox, though - I think it's Deneghra and a few Bonejacks, but I can't tell you which ones... But if you have access to a faction book you have the rules for everything, so you can try units out before you invest in the models, and see how they suit you.
From my limited gaming experience, I can tell you that moving and positioning your units is very important. Also, the performance of a model/unit can vary wildly from one game to another, so it might take a few games to truly see what a unit is capable of.
I hope that's not too much to take in. I know there are a few Menites around these boards, hopefully one of them can fill you in on that side of things
Well, I think Cryx must be the single most awesome undead faction in the history of gaming. I mean Cyber liches, Undead steampunk robots, Zombie pirates and undead mechanical cyborg centaurs with giant axes? Thats just awesome, And loads of other cool stuff too.. XD And Menoth I like the look of cus they look like mighty knights and stuff and I'v always liked knights. I'm likely just getting the battlebox to start and test the game with.
The Cryx Battlegroup contains Warcaster Warwitch Deneghra, Slayer Helljack, 2 Deathripper Bonejacks and Defiler Bonejack. While the Menoth Battlegroup contains Warcaster High Exemplar Kreoss, Crusader Heavy Warjack, Revenger Light Warjack and Repenter Light Warjack
And after looking arround more, Cygnar looks quite nice too.. Arg, he more I look and try to deside the harder it gets to chose! XD Maybe I should just get all three.. Then I can try and get the others to try the game too without having them buy a starter box first..
I kinda had the same dilemma picking my own army. I just went with what I though was cool and the army no one else in my area used (Retribution of Scyrah).
Also comes down to play style you're interested in, I guess.
Cryx as was said is very sneaky and very fast, but also have some of the most fragile units. Even their heavy warjacks aren't all that much more survivable than the lights other factions have. Good at resurrecting units and de-buffing the enemy. Corrosion is a big theme for them.
Menoth is all about synergy and buffs. By themselves, a lot of their units have low to average abilities, but with buffs from the Choir of Menoth, Vassal, other solos, and warcasters, they turn into a crazy hard army to take down. Fire is the big theme here.
Cygnar is a bit of an all-rounder. They are very good at shooting, but also aren't afraid to get up close and beat someones face in. Warjacks tend to have a higher stat-line than other factions and have a bunch of interesting rules, but are a bit easier to kill (being just above cryx in survivability). Lightning is their bit.
I think I'l buy the Menoth and Cygnar battle boxes and then see if I can manage to convince the others to try the game using those two boxes. Hopefully we will all like it and they will get their own armies. Otherwise I wont have anyone to play with..
Thanks for all the help ^_^
Always helps convince people to play when you have an army all ready for them to use! I've heard the Cygnar battle box is a pretty decent investment, I've never particularly liked the Cryx one as it seems a bit too 'advanced' for a new player. Either that or I just suck at using Deneghra!
