ei der, ive been pondering to start a warmachine force but i was wonderin if somebody could tell me the strengths and weakness of each faction? From what i've read and searched on the net, each army could be suited to fit a specific role or play style role but i'm preety much sure that a certain faction excel very much at something and will suck very bad at something at the same time.
thanks for the help.
Look down at Bigmed's Warmachine thread (currently at the bottom of the list). Or go to privateerpress.com and read their description of the factions there.
Yep, the big "Warmachine?" thread in this forum covers most of the bases.
Heres a link: http://www.librarium-online.com/foru...ad.php?t=47224 (Warmachine?)
If you have any specific questions about the individual factions, post em and Im sure someone that already plays that faction can help you.

tnx. Checked out the site. Thinking of starting cygnar. has anyone have experience playing them? How do they fare and what play style suits them best???
well thus far I have only played vs. cygnar. i am playing crys. cygnar are pretty balanced, no one tactic really suits them but to face the enemy head on. they have decent shooting, decent jacks, and aren't the fastest but aren't slow either. easy to pick up and play. I play cryx myself. i've always played large brutish forces in past wargames so i decided to go cryx this time for a change of pace. sneaky, fast and underhanded. out of the box definitely an assassination type army, although not necessarily weak in the defensive department either. warmachine rocks. if you decide to take the plunge you should try checking out the privateer press site. i frequent this and that. hopefully since WM is picking up this section of LO will really pick up.
Yeah i saw the cryx and their background. their abilities are cool. I just like the cynar and khardor figs better. No offense, just a matter of taste.
Just getting feedback before i start building one faction. . tnx
How bout khardor, figs look awesome, any comments/ experiences with this army?
You just happen to be in luck! I play Khador and Cygnar and I initially chose these factions based entirely on how awesome their models look.
The thing is that with the Escalation and Ascension expansions, it really is possible to play any faction with just about any tactic you want.
Khador is not limited to simply charging and brawling. The Destroyer, Behemoth, Winterguard, Widowmakers, and Mortars combine for a very big ranged threat. If you want a magic-oriented Khador force, Greylords and the Old Witch provide that option. Personally, I like the Khador models best, but I prefer to play Cygnar. So I mostly have minimum size Khador units that I got just to build and paint.
Cygnar is very flexible. I run two small Cygnar lists. One is Siege and Gorten with a Defender and a Driller and either Trenchers or Hammerfall to fill the remaining points. This is a balanced list with range and good close combat. The other is a small, light jack-only force that uses various combinations of Caine, Gun Mage Captain, JWC, Devil Dogs, and/or Ashlynn with Chargers, a Talon, and/or a Vanguard.
Personally, I just don't like the look of the storm and electricity-based Cygnar units, so I never got any.
I recommend you pick a warcaster that you like. Not tactically, just one that you like the look and fluff of. Look at a couple of tactics web sites and figure out what a good Jack and Troop setup is for a 500-point list (Glen Murie studios has good analysis of casters). Any warcaster can win a match, but this will give you a good idea of how each caster works best.
Glen Murie also has a very good overview of each faction and their tactical pluses and minuses, better than the thread here.

I play Cygnar as well, initially because I loved the models  I've only played a few games, due to opponents being very sparse round here. I've found they can be taliored to either shooting or CC and still not fall behind in the other catagory. Most of their jacks are as well balacnced as the list and they have a wide selection of units to utilise on the feild.
Did I already mention the models are hella cool?
I'm really torn between the two cause i don't have the funds yet to start two forces.
I really like the look of khardor models esp the widowmakers and the devastator, very cool.
But as for play style, Cynar is very appealing. it's just some jacks are useful but they look funny looking like the lancer for instance. hehehe.
Thanks for the advice, they're deeply appreciated
Khador is going to be very close combat oriented, and I believe in the last big games day tournament of the 8 finalists, 5 or 6 were Khador and there was either 1 or no Cygnar making the final cut.
This doesnt mean Cygnar are underpowered, just that the Cygnar players might not have been as good.
Anyhow, if you like the russian theme and want to get in close with monsterous 'Jacks and bunch your friends right in the face with a gigantic metal fist, go with Khador.
If you want a well rounded force that has some of everything, go with Cygnar.
I play Merc's with a little bit of Cygnar mixed in.
