Welcome to Librarium Online!
I have recently jumped on the Privateer Press bandwagon and bought a Hordes rulebook (hardback, very shiny indeed) and a Skorne warpack.
I've played two games so far, both against the Legion of Everblight, and incredibly, I won both. Although to be fair, my first game was essentially an introductory game where my friend went very easy on me and more or less allowed me to win! Anyway, my second game I won myself.
However, my other friend who has also bought Skorne played against the Trollblood warpack and lost, it was close though. But we seem to have come to the conclusion that the Troll warpack is nearly impossible to beat at the moment. I've seen them tool over the Skorne and the Circle Orboros. We have come to the conclusion that it's partly because Madrak Ironhide is effectively a light warbeast and his abilities are superior to any other Warpack Warlock. I wondered if anyone else has fought and beaten the Trollbloods yet?

I have fought and beaten the trollbloods around...4 times. Once with Skorne, and the rest with Legion of everblight.
Honestly, it's all about the player who is using them. Trollbloods can be awesome, or they can really suck depending on who's using them.
Basically, what I did with Skorne to beat Trolls (you might want to tell your friend this) is I used abuse on the two cyclopses, and charged an imapaler with both of them, and they tore it to shreds. I then had the titan gladiator standing by waiting, with unrelenting on him in case Madrak or the other imapaler decided to take a shot at him. He got his axer, his impaler and Madrak into combat with the cyclopses, and killed one of them. I then slammed the remaining implaer from the side with the titan gladiator, which flew into madrak and the axer. I finished off the impaler with the titan (it didn't fly far) and with the remaining cyclops, I managed to do just enough damage to (the injured from the slam) Madrak to kill him. Morghoul didn't even have to come in to combat...
With legion, my tactics have been pretty similar most of the time - rabid charge shredders through terrain to catch them by surprise and take out a light warbeast or two after hitting them with Lylyth's bow. The carnivean has barely done anything in the games, it doesn't have to. One game I killed Madrak just with Lylyth - I shot him twice, was readying the shredders and Carnivean to charge next turn, but I didn't have to - one of the impaler's frenzied and backstriked Madrak, finishing him off
I have only ever been beaten once by trolls (or anyone for that matter Then again I've only played...7 games) - he got a lucky shot off at Lylyth with a far striked impaler shot, knocked her down, then got her with another far striked impaler shot. I should have moved Lylyth more carefully, but it was one of my first games against trollbloods, so I didn't know the full extent of their abilities.
So, you can beat trolls, you just have to use the right tactics.
Thanks for your tactical experience there dude, I shall pass on the lessons from that encounter to my friend. His two main complaints about the trolls were Madrak's Talisman that prevents any direct charges against him meant that he couldn't execute the main thing that he thought Skorne (well, the Skorne Warpack) are good at, ie Charges and Slams. Then he got upset that when he did finally manage to get a really solid lucky hit on Madrak, he just ignores all that damage using his scroll (which, to be fiar, is somewhat irritating!).
However, it seemed to me that although the objective of these basic games is to kill the opposing Warlock, sometimes (particularly in the case of the Trolls) you have to do it in a slightly more indirect way. Your experience seems to lend weight to that theory. I did have an idea that perhaps if you could occupy the Impalers (by charging them with the Cyclopes), the relatively undamaged Titan could walk up to Madrak (possibly using Abuse) and just beat the snot out of him with attacks and Power Attacks. I'd imagine liberal use of Toment on the Trolls is also quite useful to nullify their Tough and Regenerate abilities!
