Welcome to Librarium Online!
'm finally going back to my roots and starting another Vampire Counts army. I'm in the initial stages of planning but things are coming along nicely.
Here's the plan....
I'm not going to use ANY Vampire Counts models for this army. These's the line up so far...
Necromancers- The new empire mages. The Amathyst wizard is too hard to pass up.
Black Knights- 2x units, one made from HE Dragon Princes and the other from DE Cold One Knights.
Wight Lord- The mounted HE hero
Blood Dragon Vampire- The DE character, whats-his-face Darkblade
Spirit Hosts- Empire Flagellents
Fell Bats- Wood Elf harks from the Wark Hawks riders
Zombies- Big 'ole bits bashing of Empire Free Company and Zombie/Skeleton bits with random Dwarf, Orcs, and Wood Elves
Dire Wolves- Goblin Wolf Riders and Forest Goblin Spider Riders and maybe Beastmen Centigors
Gravegaurd- Random Dwarf models, Iron Breakers/Miners/Hammerers/Long Beards
Black Coach- Wood Elf Great Eagles dragging bodies behind them
That pretty much covers it.
So far I have...
5x Dragon Princes. I need one more.
6x Cold One Knights
6x Wolf Riders
6x Spider Riders
And tomorrow I'm picking up the Empire Wizards
I'm not going to heavily convert this army. I want people to see each and every model for what it is. I'm going to do simple conversions like head swaps, arm swaps, some green stuff, some guts hanging out here and there and everything will have a nice dead tone. Lots of green/grey fleshes, some rotting bits, some disease, but overall, a bit fresher dead :-) The overall coat of arms will be black, red, and gold. I want to but a good amount of time into the painting so show the levels of dead from fresh to "dead-for-to-long".
These are the first Zombies I painted in a long time. They are bit bashed with an Empire Militia box. Zombie with a blunderbuss? LOVE IT!!!
These are the High Elf Dragon Princes I'm using for Black Knights aka VC Blood Dragon Princes. Get it? huh? eh, whatever :-)
This is my other unit of Black Knights. They're Dark Elf Cold One Knights. I wanted these guys and the Dragon Princes to have the same color scheme so they will fit in with the armie's color scheme as a whole.
All the bases and movement trays for the knights are done being painted. I'm going to use whispy clumps of steel wool, painted nicely, to represent mist on the movement trays.
