Well, the past few days I have been working rather hard upon grimgore. I am in fact rather pleased with my results so far. The armour took some work. Washes and glazes before being stippled with metallics once more. However, for some reason my light is being very reflective and the metals are shining a lot lighter than I would like. =| You can still see what its like in other places.

The heads might need more work on, they look rather red still. I might pale them up, to give the look of long dead heads, rather than fresh - ie the one in his hand. He's not done, but he's getting there nicely I feel. =D

Two images, hopefully although they are almost the same, you might get a better look at something else.

What a pretty little green skin! Yes, the armor looks super duper amazing, Kuffy. I wouldn't mind getting your paint recipe *nudges with carrot fist...Kuffy fails leadership and therefore must provide at once!*

The heads hanging at the waist, while certainly pink, look good as they are. However, I can see why you might want to 'pale' them up a bit. From a logistics standpoint, the orc would probably have a fresher head in his hand, which he's about to lob at some poor Bret, and then have older ones on his waist.

It's difficult to get a lot of detail of the skin tone from the images. Actually, I take that back. Only the first image is in the shadows. The second one depicting the skin shows the shading, which I give the Rabbit thump of approval ;Y. Now, onto the base. What are the plans here?

There will be no nudging there rabbit boy. The metals.. lets see.

Base: Oily Steel (VMC) + Chaos Black (could use boltgun)
+ Chainmail

Washed with:
Snakebite leather - at least two layers
Bestial Brown - as many as you need
+ blood red & sunburst yellow
Smoke (Tamiya)
Smoke (VMC)

I found this to look very rusted, but also rather brown - in a rusted way. =/ Would look very good on ogre weapons I'd say. After deciding the metals were not showing through enough I stippled on:

natural steel (VMC) + chaos black (could use chainmail)

Then slight edge highlights with the base colour, before a final wash of smoke.

I admit, this might be off. I never take notes of what I do, I just do it. It worked out well anyway, just need to get a photo without the glaring from light. It looks good for rusted or battle worn armour I think.

Will work on the heads in a bit. The base... not sure. I was going to go dark, but then he himself is quite a dark mini. Any suggestions for a base colour?

Ok. I am pretty sure Grimgore is now complete. =D I am overall pleased with how he looks.

An ogre dear boy? Where? You should know he's a filthy greenskin.

Thanks. Again my photographic ability sucks, so some highlights and such have been washed out but overall he looks like he should. I'm quite happy. =D

Looks awesome Kuff. I love the skintone, very menacing and suiting for an Ork that 'ard. The metal I think have a good blend of tones and shades, although perhaps one tiny, final highlight would really make it 'pop'.
