A very nice looking mini, despite it being foul greenskin I do like the metal very much, it being dirty, grimy, greasey...orcy basically

Nope, he's a one off. Unless I decide to do an orc and goblin army... haha, still too scared dude. I am going to be working on a test dwarf, then the exchange mini. Then you'll be seeing an awful lot of beard around the place. =D

You will never improve if you dont try and further youre painting skills! Why not make grimgor and his army and your dwarf army as his nemisis?

This is true. I will at some point, but I am wanting dwarfs. I CRAVE BEARDS!! As to making two armies nemesis' nice idea...but I'm a student. I have no such cash for that. Yet.

Lookin' pretty good kuffster.
I'd suggest a teeny-tiny final highlight on bits of the armour, to really make them stand out, and a little more work on the red 'gut-plate' (for want of a better word) wouldn't go amis, IMO.

I also don't really like the 'sand' or whatever it is on the base.

But that's just me being annoying.
Very fine.

minus - I know what you mean about the base. I am really not that good at basing miniatures, I just sort of run out of ideas with him really. The metals and even the skin are a bit washed out with the photography, not sure why. There is a highlight there, but I wanted it so much to be very battered and worn.

Chered - Cheers. For some reason since being at uni, my photos just have not been that good - being a little worn. =/

I hardly ever used to concentrate on bases. It's the mini I paint, not the base Which is why I'm trying to do bases first as much as possible now

One (unrelated) question, GW are running a national painting competition in may and I was wondering(nosey) if you might enter something? Love your stuff so far man and I can't wait to see Dwarves! (you seen mine yet?)

The base is actually important, in many cases. I am just not good at basing my miniatures. I did have a big idea over his base, but I have no monster bases left. =(

I saw this. I did in fact actually wonder about this...I am tempted, just need to discover what the options/categories are. Dwarfs coming soon.
