Weeeeellll!! It's been a while, has it not? I admit I have been rather lax with the painting front, sorry about that. I have had a busy time, with uni, exams, finding myself a lass, and now on the horizon is the move to the new house and the LO meet. All this has meant that I have done pretty much nothing. I have had these sat on my desk for AGES. ='( My poor neglected dwarfs. Anyway, quick photo: ![]() I will admit to a number of things here... they are a bit rushed, not so much so but they are only rank and file. There are a few faults here and there, I'm not so worried about this. The bases are bland and uninteresting, I wanted something simple but not too bad. I like them, so that is find by me =P I am stuck on the cloak colour - I just don't know what to do them =( I think grey would blend too much, brown would be too much..um...help! And I just have to the rune for the shields to paint on, then they're done. What to expect? Well...this week I plan to start on my exchange mini. It will be late but I have been informed that this is no problem, so that's good. I won't spoil the surprise just yet. -_^ After this, more dwarfs. I need ideas for unit fillers, I have the bases to fit, but not the ideas to fit the bases. =S Anyway, that's it for me at the moment. Gods only know when I'll get around to the rest, and sorry for the rushed photo etc. =) All comments and criticism welcome as always. Kuffy

How do I get this privilege? =P For the cloaks, I'd suggest trying yourself out a blue-grey, start out at shadow grey, wash down with some black-blue, then highlight by mixing in some space wolves grey... Could work. Ties the rest of the scheme together, and shouldn't blend or clash too much. Worth a try? -t.

The 'bloom' effect kinda distracts from the minis though (intentional? ).I agree with -t that a blue-greyish cloak could look cool. Bluegrey compliments blue well I think. |

Unit filler idea: Kriel Stone Bearer ...? A dwarf carrying around a huge chunk of stone carved to represent an ancestor would be hella awesome. -t.

King Ulrik Flamebeard, Good job on your dwarves, they look great. Even though your colourscheme consists of many cold colours, the look is not unpleasant as you might've thought. Regarding the cloaks: How about a basecoat of a grey/blue colour (I like Adeptus Battlegrey, and maybe Ice Blue) highlighted 2 or 3 times by adding some white, with borders in gold/ice blue? It could spice it up, but some people dislike adding detail to a model which has not been molded on. Can't wait to see more, good luck on the lass. Drey |

I do like the blue/grey idea. Am going to give it a go and see how it turns out. =) Thanks for all the comments, and will take more time with the pictures next time - I just wanted them done damnit. =) Once finished, well...exchange mini time. =) And it's a little different than my usual choice. Kuffy

OK. As promised, I have started my exchange mini. Unfortunately I have been lack with this, a number of factors mentioned before have stopped me from painting. The recipient have been informed and agreed to me sending it late to them, of which I am rather grateful for their understanding. I am a little upset as I'm showing a bad example as organiser of the project, but alas it could not really be helped. Anyway, time for a photo I believe... ![]() I decided on a The inner robe will be a light grey, but (thanks Minus) I intend to try and incorporate the cloak colour in there to bring them together. I am unsure as to the colour of the helmet and the wraithbone armour. I have an idea for the weapon head which I'm keeping to myself at the moment. And finally I have no idea as to a base. I am limited on supplies for basing (have plenty of cork, sand and two kinds of static grass, plus birch seed leaves [see Warrior Priest's base for what I mean]). He will be mounted on a terminator base, I just need ideas. =/ As usual, all comments and criticism is welcome and addressed when I get to it. But for now, bye, I am off to spend time on Neverwinter Nights. I love this game, old but sooo... good! Kuffy
