Lovely painting as always, despite this loyalist tendency of yours ![]() About eBay, sure, it's cheaper to get your auctions started at 0.99 but it really hurts when they sell cheap. I've learned from experience that it's good to have a starting price you feel good-ish about selling at, say 9.99 or whatever. I had to sell a Bassie for far less than retail and that really hurt. I think you should be doing well on eBy as you are a fantastic painter.

You may be pleased to know that I made about £5000 in three months selling my painted miniatures on ebay. When I got married I shifted most of my collection to pay for the wedding and other costs. I couldn't tell the wife that I own more than I had then though... Anyways that's not the point. The point is that individual miniatures went for upto £13 each. And that was in 2005... I had a unit of six stealth crisis suits that went for that much each. I had only posted three but the buy who bought then liked them so much that he offerred the same cash for any more. So I sold the other three. Bear in mind that some auctions go for the initial 99p. So it does even out a bit. The real trick is knowing when something is well painted enough to go for more than it would as an unpainted stripped model. I also recomentd that you learn about how to use ebay, knowing when to post, how to post and what sells is totally detached from common sense. You don't go by what you think you only pay attention to what works. I suggest that if you are serious then you have some considerbale research to do to make it work. For example, make sure your auctions end at a busy time so that there are lots of people who can bid against each other in those closing minutes rather than having your auction end at midnight when there are only two people watching. Little things like that make a huge difference.

Once more, I have been convinced by that sneaky old man minus_t. We have another bet on. Those of you might remember our previous 'Scions of Ra vs Black Dragons' bet of 2006; first one to finish a 1500pt marine army wins, loser buys the winner a meal and drink at the following LO Meet. I have lost this one already. How you ask, by my choice of army. Orks. And this is my list (thus far, I quite like it). It is 2000pts: Warboss (120 ) PK, Eavy Armour, Kimbi-Skorcha, Attack Squig, Cybork Retinue: 7 Nobs (375 )Big Mek (95 ) Shokk Attack Gun 25 Shootas ( 200 ) 2x Big Shoota Nob - PK + Boss pole 25 Shootas ( 210 ) 2x Rokkit Nob - PK + Boss pole 25 Sluggas ( 190 ) Nob - PK + Boss pole 12 Sluggas (157 ) Nob - PK+ Boss pole Trukk - Red Paint Job, Reinforced ram 12 Sluggas (157 ) Nob - PK+ Boss pole Trukk - Red Paint Job, Reinforced ram 13 Lootas (195 ) 2 Deffkoptas (80 ) 1x Twin-linked Rokkits 2 Warbuggies (80 ) 2x grot riggers, 2xTwin-linked Rokkits Looted Wagon (140 ) Boomgun, 'Ard case, red paint job, grot riggers, armour plates, reinforced ram This comes to 1999pts (unless my calculator is wrong, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). That is 121 orks on foot + 8 vehicles. O_o This is why I say I'm going to fail. ![]() The challenge starts now. I have ten orks completed. I'll hope to get some pictures up by the end of the week. I just painted all the orks from AoBR in about 2 days. Here's what I recommend for fast painting- spray black, Gretchin Green skin base coat on the skin followed by a heavy Thraka green wash. Follow that with foundation browns on the clothing, boltgun metal drybrushed on the metal bits and then a Mud wash over all of that. It's nothing fantastic but it's quick (25 orks in about 12 hours). If you pick out icons in Dheneb Stone before the wash then that works well too. If you want to go further just go back over with a single highlight on everything. Good luck! It's nice to see someone with the balls to take a horde.

I'm always down for a Kuffy project. What do you plan to paint first?

Lost: I think so as well, but it'll be a bit of motivation. TPM: Thanks, that sounds good, but I think I have a working method. David: First up is 25 Ork shoota boys, 15 to go. Minus: Indeed. And congratulations on your win. ![]() Kuff
