hehe, cheers. As I have done the purity seals black, I had the idea of doing the blade the same colour as well. Going black to a light grey. What do you think? It's either that, or green as you suggest.

Ive seen some black power weapons recently when I glanced through the cabinet minitures of a GW in London I stubbled upon, they did some kind of 'manga flash' of grey through the black. It looked good and quite simple but I cant find any pictures to show you.

However I did find this, it would be nice to do you blades somthing along the same style as this in either black or green.

Hm... that looks rather advanced for me. hehe, people believe I am a really skilled painter when I'm not, just consistent. hehe. However, that weapon does look rather funky and I might give it a try.

I wouldnt say its that advanced, theres proably 4 or 5 shades of blue and white in there. A fine pointed brush should get the effect quiet easily.

The hardest part is probably getting the different bands of blue on the middle of the blade to consistant widths which considering the width of each band would only require a steady hand for perhaps the last two bands.

Well, been a short while since I posted but I have done quite a lot really. =D In fact, he is almost complete all but for his icons. Putting him together (he is not glued onto the base, and his shield is also not attached) made a world of difference, he looks pretty good. I am so rather happy as to how he looks 'whole'.

I am now steeling myself to paint the icons. I am not that good at freehand. so painting a griffon makes me nervous. I will practice a bit tomorrow I think on some paper, who knows, I might even actually attempt it.






Tonight, I am going to play around with my next mini. As a betrayal to my beloved bearded dwarfs I will next be painting...Grimgore Ironhide. I have an idea for his base, but need to have a gander to see if he'll work on this. Following him, I shall be doing lots and lots of dwarfs, as I repaint my dwarf army and make it very uniquely mine. =)

All comments and criticism is welcome, as always. =)

Having seen the model I do declare that green highlights for the blade is the way to go. Gives it a sort of menacing feel.

Good paint job as well, consistantly good as always. 8Y

Looks pretty good (for something a stunty hammered together on an anvil), but I reckon the blade could use a little more work, tbh.

It kinda looks unfinished to me, in that at first glance it just looks flat black (says me eh?).
I'd suggest trying a few 'juices' of green over it, to make it pop a little more (where juices = paint + either glaze or matte medium (around 1:8 paint:medium), applied over several layers to add real depth of colour, and tint the area).

He looks all purty in his pyjamas!

I can see your point on the axe. I doesn't look quite as good as it could. I will have another look perhaps tomorrow. But thanks for the compliment, it feels good to paint again. Who knows, maybe I'll rival yourself one day. =p

The seals worked quite well, the text was done with burnt cadium.
