I think some mud on there would help tie the model into the base, although I am most unhappy to see a beastman shield on there. >=( Nice leaves though. If only you'd used a cart-wheel. I agree with you on the tattoo, though I think you could easily tidy it up, especially looking at how fine you got them purity-squiggles. Nice stuff kuff. -t.

I like the idea of the tattoo, but it's edges look a bit fuzzy and it sort of blends into the skin on his head. If you can sharpen the edges I think it would look really good.

Oh yes! I return once more!! =D Once more I have decided to try and pay attention to my hobby, though for how long I am unsure. A fickle creature that I am. Anyway, last night I spent ages fishing through my mini box for something to paint up, but do you know what folks? I didn't want to paint ANY OF THEM. =( Some of them, I am too afraid of ruining, quite silly that; or they are now OOP minis (eg. on foot Valten MKIII and Archaon). So after a few hours debating I settled for a marine. Plastic one, just for a bit of fun. I wanted to alter him, and my first idea was just way out and so went for another look. The idea is is suppose to be more or less resting his weapon on his shoulder. Doesn't quite work as my conversion abilities are not that good, and the same applies to my GS skills. I think all together he looks pretty decent, and the fact that the axe arm is a bit longer than the other will perhaps be less noticeable when he has paint upon him. And the white on the base is the "sealing" glue wash that has yet to dry. Anyway, here he is: ![]() I am unsure when he'll get any paint added to him, mainly because I have a few uni assignments that are going to keep me mostly busy until easter break (15th March), as well as social stuff (aka drinking). He might not be touched until easter then, but as I have three weeks off I should be able to complete him then. Something you can help me with. A chapter. He won't be my own (Scions of Ra) and I don't want him to be done as one of the more popular chapters - so no founding ones, or their most famous successors (unless they are rarely seen painted). But, any suggestions for his colours - and links to images of your selections would be helpful indeed. -__^ So far, suggested: Flesh Tearers (Minus_T) Imperial Fists (Da...thingy Camel) Flesh Eaters (SWAT) Kuffy

Welcome back to that other side of the hobby, Kuffy (y'know, the one with all those strange, coloured liquids and hairy sticks). ![]() I like that marine. Nothing beats tossing your helmet off and scratching that spot with your power axe just before the battle. Ahhh yeah. Because that's what he is doing, right? As for teh chapter, Rainbow Warriors is the obvious choice but I could settle with an Hello Kitty-marine as well. Come one, you know you want to! Imperial Fists could be a cool choice and provide a different challenge than painting them brown Scions. |

Right! I have now done all my uni work set before Easter (two essays + research in two days. Kuffeh FTW), and so will hopefully get some work done on this mini before I go home for a week or so over Easter. Tonight I plan to undercoat him, I shall be using grey (nice and neutral, and I cannot spray in my flat). I have narrowed down three choices, which I rather like. Which do you think? Scythes of the Emperor ![]() Sons of Guilliman Flesh Tearers Now, unless someone has an image of another chapter which beats those two...which do you all prefer? The mini hasn't changed, so just look at him and see which suits best/you'd like to see me paint. I am honestly torn between all three. =/ Kuffy |

As for chapter if I may? I've just stared painting some Marines (loyalist if you can imagine...no nugle or nothing) belonging to the Mortificators. I think they have a very nice black/bone coloursheme. Some gren details and a yellow rim on the shoulderpads. It's a striking sheme IMHO, yet dark and menecing enough to scare everyone...bar me then of course ![]() I like them better than the Scytes as a lot more of their bonecolour is visable. The other two chapters you've shown are great looking, though the Sons are a bit too....footballteam looking for my liking and the Fleshtearers...well it's always nice with some fellow cannibals ![]() Good luck with your studies and I luaghed when I read how you're complaining over the schoolwork (having just two days to do all that...but then I'll paint a mini for a week) great plan |

Chered - Cheers, but might give my painting skills a work out. And he's built already. =) Andu - Hm, they are a nice looking chapter. I do like their scheme, not too much bone (I have had PLENTY of bone-esk painting before now (see Scions for details) ). You might be right about the Sons' but, I think its because I have never done a split scheme. I want to try more things, rather than plain, flat colours. I will look into it. Kuffy |
