I find the best way to slog through models is to do a little bit at a time. I never work on more than 5 models at a time, and I don't have unpainted or unassembled models lying around where they can depress me. Usually I sit down to paint for no more than an hour, otherwise I find that I get burned out, start getting sloppy, and end up being really frustrated.

I also will pick a single color to work on during my session. On the Waywatchers I just did, I decided one night would be their cloaks. A basecoat and two highlights on 5 models took me about an hour to finish and then I walked away and watched the Red Sox game. Getting single, whole parts of your models done in increments like this allows you to get the whole model done in stages and makes progress visible.

Honestly- I'm wigging out. I've go more study than you'd believe, assignments to the moon AND I need to finish some painting for my LGS before I get paid for all of it.

I'm desperately trying to get a drop-pod painted (a shiny new plastic one!) as my last addition to ToP (and maybe a dread). I really really don't want to joker out at the last hurdle!


As a piece of advice- paint drop-pods in pieces. As many pieces as possible.

Mmmm, I'll be getting a bunch of pods in soon, and will bear that in mind. I figured it to be the case. Best of luck on all the work, TPM, I know how it can be.

I have one unit painted for the end of this month! Only a second unit to paint. How did I end up with nearly 600pts of marines to paint in one month!

I'll get it done though, even if I have to pull all nighters, there is no way i'm getting jokered out now.
