Either trying to convert them into the fold, and/or embarrassed or scandalized out of the church and/or feeding their less priesty sides with the spoils of war? You could have the holy leader leading an army of "wretches", priests leading a crusade of said "wretches" to reform the church, or lectors who have decided to lead the good life of leading a crusade in order to profit themselves....or any variation that you came up with. Hope this helps.

Hmmm...maybe you could try to use European history for inspiration? I think what you have in mind pretty much sums it up pretty good

Wow i find this incredibly annoying, it disrupts my normal painting schedule of doing nothing for weeks on end... . Ive got to paint about another 50 points. How is everyone else doing?

Finished mine up, but it was incredibly easy this month, so I might do a little extra "alternate" work. Next few months should be a lot more challenging.

I'm really taxing myself by trying to paint a million billion basic Gors and Ungors (well, not quite a million billion, but you can get quite a few into 200pts...).

So far they aren't even undercoated.

I have faith.

I'm making it easy on myself too, two heroes are in the progress of being finished, but I do undestand your pain -t. I sometimes look upon my Men at arms and archers thinking... Yeah, chore.
I've been considering giving them every upgrade in the book though...

My lot seem to be coming along nicely. Getting the yellow basecoat down was the longest and hardest thing to do. I feel I should get them done this month. No need for the joker just yet!

Well CC, if you keep posting here in the fantasy threads, you might just use your jokers and not even knowing about it.
Still, it's good to have you here though
