I plan on using the new washes, possibly combined with future floor wax (as long as it looks nice), to pid/wash the entire force. Goal is to be done with em before I go off to college in september.
Well I am getting into full gear now on a few different things (right in time to stop when I get a job soon...). Trying to work on my bikers some more, but right now, gonna start priming nids, doing second round test painting on a few more spine gaunts, and building some terrain that has been taking up space on my WIP shelf.
That's all of the little buggers. 1750 pts right now, will probably drop for 5th ed, as stealers wont be as expensive. Maybe I'll add more gaunts or stealers then, or just buff up the big bugs...or add a big bug...hmmm choices...
OK more updates on things not related to the title of this thread...
Terrain: built and painted up some dragons teeth, razor wire, and forests, and craters. and yes the trees are crooked, I'm still trying to fix that.
and some more test schemes for my nids, now with washes applied, and a few more variation I was messing around with. First tow are the same as before, the third is a brighter version of the second, and the last is just different. Not sure right now what to go with...
What looks best in your opinion? The green and bone colored one looks ok, but it a bit too plain for my tastes, and I am unsure whether the brighter red-yellow is better than the darker, dingier one. As for the green and blue, still looks cool, and that makes the choice difficult.
Thanks for looking.
Either of the bottom two would make a nice colour scheme, although the top one would work well if you pulled it off right. It's hard to decide on a colour scheme for nids without seeing the whole army, as it has to all work together - but i think the bottom one would work well like that, and is quite unique.
I really like the first one (Green-White) and the last one (Green-Yellow???)...
On the terrain pics everything is very nice but the barbed wire dosn't look to barbed...
Thanks to all the people showing faith in me
I sometimes feel that everyone will leave me and they will be on their own...
Green and white/blue for me it looks the most alien and less generic IMO. I think the big bugs would look really striking in these coulours.

I'm still a fan of the red / yellow scheme. The darker one looks more realistic but the brighter one looks a bit more striking. I also like the last one but I agree that it is a bit plain; maybe go with a brighter green?
Thanks for the input guys. I think I am gonna mull it over for a few days, maybe paint up a second test model for each scheme, before I decide. While doing that I will be painting my bikers and building some other minis.
I'll keep you updated.
It was just some test barbed wire I made years ago, that I wanted to either get rid of, or use. When it comes to terrain, I just want to get it on the table where it is useful...
